Staff Sgt. Charles Allen Judge Jr., 40, and Sgt. First Class Jonathan Michael Prins, 29, "were acting as good Samaritans when they were shot," said Capt. Rest in peace to these brave soldiers. There are a number of sources for this story and I had not seen it posted yet. The altercation happened at the Frayed Knot restaurant/bar, not quite a dive. A sort of seaside place. The two per one story actually came running off their boats upon hearing gunshots.

God's rest you both.

I find it interesting Prins was a SFC at only 29. Sounds like he was a good soldier with a bright future.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13) When the friend is a stranger, is that even GREATER?

Soldiers are urged to move to the sound of the guns, this was a case of moving to the sounds of distress! I am guessing that their acts qualify them for the US Army's "Army Soldier's Medal"; "Established on July 2, 1926, the Army Soldier’s Medal honors members of the United States Armed Forces who distinguish themselves through heroic acts. Eligible acts do not entail confrontation with hostile forces but typically involve the risking of life or limb on behalf of others. The Soldier’s Medal is the greatest distinction a soldier can earn for exhibiting bravery in circumstances other than combat.

God Bless them and give comfort to their loved ones!

Possible white knighting for a druggie ho if the perp is telling the truth. Still a tragedy, of course.

Yes, gone are the days when a guy could safely assume that the female in a melee was a damsel in distress. If she was the instigator it would be some justice for her to be charged with murder also.

If your chasing someone cause they stole your cocaine, poof as to any defense.

All the stories say is she stole or took the drugs from the seat.

What an idiot do kill innocents in a case like this.
