Trump showed at RNC he's approaching the presidency like a smart CEO

One of the reasons I’ve been favorably inclined toward Donald Trump’s candidacy right from the start is that he saw something I saw when I ran four years ago. America needs a president who understands executive decision-making.

When I was a candidate, I met with Donald Trump to seek his advice. He was only too happy to see me, and we had a great conversation. One of the things we agreed on was that few candidates from either party seemed to understand how effective executive leaders make decisions, set priorities or put together teams who can get results.
*snip*
Trump is clearly putting together his team and contemplating the roles he needs his key people to play. He’s also setting the goals, and making sure his team will have what it takes to accomplish them.

As a business person, this is one of the things I saw Trump having in good measure, genuine executive ability. It was one of many reasons I chose him as the candidate, and voted for him in our primary. This ability is sorely needed in the country right now.

“One of the criticisms of Trump is that he doesn’t seem very interested in policy details. I don’t think that’s true. I think he just understands that it’s his job to set the goals and he needs to bring aboard the right people to help determine how to accomplish the goals.”

Bump.

Of Course Trump can make American great again .

He is an entrepreneur like the men who built this country , Henry Ford, J.p. Morgan, Thomas Edison ,

U.S. factories will again be producing, China will not make everything as they do now, We will not fear Islam taking over America and enslaving our women. It will be morning in America once again if we are smart enough to elect the builder called Trump

Donald Trump was asked if he could quote any bible verses.

He answered: “Yep, I sure can”......”Trump 20:16”

“What’s that?”

“Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Deport the son-of-a-bitch, and you’ll never have to feed him again!”

As opposed to the globalist sock puppets we've had since the 80's!

The Executive experience and ability is in stark contrast to Hillary Clinton. If she had done what she did while an executive VP of any major corporation, she would have been fired on the spot and unemployable thereafter. She sure as hell would not get a promotion.

Arguing this with a Trump hater over the weekend, she said “Well it’s different in government.” My reply was “It sure is; corporations are there to make a profit. Governments are there to protect our lives. I hold government officials to a higher standard.”

Micromanagement gets a bad rap. When coupled with vision and competence, it’s called “attention to detail.” And Trump definitely has it. Seen video of him walking around job sites, discussing that very thing.

It’s too easy for incompetent leaders with no knowledge of their domain to punt everything down the chain. Then what are you for? You have to be able to assess talent, and keep on top of people.

Winston Churchill absolutely micro-managed WWII, and was the indispensable man for it. Absolute mastery of the subject, boundless energy, attention to detail, and eye for talent.

Trump falls a little short on mastery of the subject, but we make do with what we have. He’s far superior to any politician.

I know some people need to know that Trump can run the country. But that really has nothing to do with it. The DNC emails show what we knew. And that is, that we have been led to a post democracy area. Our bureaucracies that run things have decided that democracy is only a show, like the Oscars.

Democracy depends on information flowing to the population. Now we know that disinformation flows to the populous which means the people are choosing set up candidates based on misinformation.

This country is run by a government bureaucracy combined with media and parties that are all bought and paid for.

Trump’s son made a very important point. Trump is the only one who does not need the job. And he has run a campaign that needs very little money. Which is important. If candidates don’t need huge piles of cash, maybe the lobbyists won’t have as much pull with their cash. Or maybe, the cash will be spent on party employees who are over paid corrupt ex-politicians.

Another point that was made today on CNBC was that the two parties had very strong anti-establishment fights. In the DNC, the establishment won, they stole it. In the RNC, the establishment lost. They tried to steal it but couldn’t. So lets watch to see who votes for whom.

Our choice in November is this: Trump who is shattering the establishment and all its causes. Versus Hillary who is as corrupt and establishment as possible. I think democracy is in the balance. If Hillary wins, we are saying elections don’t matter. Truth and democracy don’t matter. Our government can do as they wish, they know best.

What you are saying comports with business people who have worked directly with Trump on turnarounds. I asked, how did he turn around that project which looked so terrible? They said basically he showed up, walked around, talked to everyone, and told everyone what to do down to the smallest jobs, and told them in great detail just exactly what to do....then later he would walk around again, and if they weren’t doing what he said, he would fire them on the spot.

That rubbed me slightly the wrong way at first, b/c as you point out, it sounds like “micromanagement” which does get a bad rap...and in the wrong context, deservedly so.

But I think I understand his “micromanaging” now. It actually comes with him also talking to the people doing the jobs...sort of helping them think through a new best practice. It’s not that he’s a know it all, and shows up and dictates. Rather...he shows up...listens and talks...THEN gives a directive, then follows up.

It’s a form of micromanagement, and in a context where a project is failing. But from what I have heard from real people who have experienced a Trump turnaround, it is incredibly effective.

Trump knows his business. Hell, wasn't Steve Jobs a micromanager? It's why founders are the most effective CEOs. They know their business front to back. For some time now, the belief has been that a widget is a widget. If you've run a soft drink company, you can run a hospitality company. I think it's bunk. The devil is in the details, not just top-line charts.

That said, there are generalized traits of a good executive, and Trump's scores very high on my card - intuition, energy, salesmanship, guts, creativity.

Ya know ... I really don’t care if there is not a real, physical wall that spans the southern USA as long as what is actually done is effective in stopping illegal immigration. Building walls is not proactive and usually not effective (Maginot Line ring a bell?). Put snipers-in-training down along the border with shoot-to-kill ROE. Make crossing into the USA a futile if not fatal endeavor. The few survivors of a failed crossing will get back home and tell others to forget trying to get into the USA unless they have a death wish.

Harsh? I know how it sounds but when the word gets around down south, the attempts will dwindle to almost nothing.

Some people imagine that CEOs just delegate everything, then sit around barking vague orders without paying much attention to the details. ... The good ones are very involved in every aspect of the operation, and know intimately what’s going on.

Money Quote.

The best managers are the ones who are good at picking people, then letting those people do their jobs.

There's an enormous difference between "knowing what's going on" and "micromanaging every process that's happening".

And, I'd add that as a manager, the hardest thing to do is to stay out of the way and allow the people to do the job you've assigned them, particularly when you think you could do it better.

Bingo.

"What difference does it make??" That was fire-able, right there, on the spot. When the boss, in this case a Representative of the American people, is asking .... You'd better have a better answer than a slightly more polite version of "Who gives a #hit and screw you for asking me."
