Even Reagan ended up endorsing Ford in 1976 after a bitter primary campaign. This certainly helped him in 1980.

Do the right thing Ted!

Cruz would not pass the ‘foxhole test’ to me.

We FReepers shouldn’t be so quick to glom onto the MSM’s negative portrayals of this proven conservative senator.

Great post. It will fall on dead ears, sadly.

Did I miss Cruz's endorsement of Trump? Has he upheld his promise to do so? Not up to this point he hasn't.

It isn't the media's negative portrayal, it's what Cruz is doing all by himself.

“I’m a Texan, and we have a lot of oil. You are from New York City, and you have lots of water. While we may be as separate as those two things, we are joined in a union of brothers, and that makes us family. And I have seen that through that city exterior, a fellow American that has devoted himself, heart and soul, to the preservation of our freedom, the guarantee of our security, and to the renewal the promise of our nation to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And that is for me all the reason that I will stand with you and fight to defeat the Clinton machine...”

Something like that will work.

Cruz is a self-centered jerk.

If he's not careful, he's gonna get booed and laughed at.

“We FReepers shouldn’t be so quick to glom onto the MSM’s negative portrayals of this proven conservative senator.”

Really? So you think we should give an abundance give deference and respect?

That certainly seems ironic. Weren’t you the same individual who was loudly demanding that FReepers who supported Trump to “LEAVE FR” the night of the Iowa caucus?

No doubt your earlier demand was delivered out of an abundance of deference and respect to your fellow FReepers.

PREDICTION: Cruz plans to take a large part of his speech to talk about how great his dad is

I’m sure you’re right where a large quantity of Cruz supporters are concerned. Nevertheless I have been lectured repeatedly, within the past couple of weeks by posters who are still active, that Trump was not the nominee. Once Trump became the nominee, I’ve been told, Cruz’ endorsement would quickly follow.

Just my opinion, Mr. Trump is letting Cruz destroy himself and any future political dreams he has.

I am amazed at how very stupid and egotistical Cruz is, and his supporters and advisors, that they don’t see this.

Mr. Trump has shown himself gracious in victory while Mr. Cruz has shown that he is actually the liar that Mr. Trump said he was. His supporters have shown that they are childish, throwing tantrums at the convention with millions of people watching.

I have seen a clear demonstration of lack of honor or concern for law and this country’s welfare. I am convinced there are enough intelligent people in this country that have been watching this that are seeing it also.

Cruz will rightly be branded a cult leader and his supporters are doing their best to prove that to the country. I will be surprised if Cruz has any political future or influence for the rest of his life.

Of course this country put up with eight years of Obama so who knows.

He signed the pledge and backed out.

Isn't it funny how at the time, the media hype was about whether TRUMP would sign and honor the pledge? Now we have Bush, Graham, Cruz, Kasich, and probably others not honoring the pledge they signed. Perfect example of why traditional politicians are scum. Say what people want to hear, and then actually DO something else.

What are the odds Cruz will make some snarky a**hole comment that his speech wasn’t “plagiarized”??

I figure they will be VERY high, knowing the snake he is!
