"Wright State withdraws from presidential debate" (Going to be held at liberal Hofstra instead)
Dayton Daily News ^ | 7/19/2016 | Lynn Hulsey

“In light of Wright State University’s announcement of earlier today, the September 26, 2016 Presidential Debate will be held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. The Commission very much appreciates Wright State’s efforts. Hofstra University served very successfully as a presidential debate site in 2012. On September 23, 2015, the Commission announced that Hofstra University had agreed to serve as an alternate site this debate cycle if needed. The Commission looks forward to working with Hofstra once again.”

And exactly WHAT is going on in Dayton, Ohio that will prevent them from holding a debate?

WSU President David Hopkins said Tuesday that Wright State is withdrawing as host of first presidential debate scheduled for Sept. 26 at Nutter Center.
He cited escalating costs for security and the inability to raise enough money from community and state to cover what could be as much as $8 million to host the event.
Hopkins said Tuesday in an exclusive interview that he was motivated in part by security concerns raised by the recent attack in Nice, France.
“I can’t assure the safety of our students and the community,” Hopkins said.
Earlier this month, officials said the debate was expensive, but worth it.
Hopkins informed the Commission on Presidential Debates at noon today, and hopes to recoup at least some of the $2 million fee that was paid to the Commission in advance. Approximately $500,000 had been spent already on Nutter Center upgrades.

Maybe they can host the Democrat Convention the next time around. Nutter Center sounds like the perfect venue.

WSU is my MBA alma mater has devolved into just another leftist hellhole.

Supposedly, security costs were running to F’n high! (h/t “Used Cars”)

Costs rose from $3.5 million to over $8 million

You would think they make money for hosting the debate, not spend it. If that's the case why does any facility host a debate?

Something doesn't smell kosher to me.

Sounds like their governor didn’t lift a finger to keep it. Take a guess who that might be. LOL.

I hope this is not the beginning of a scheme for Hillary to avoid having to debate Trump.

Trump should put his foot down and say it’s Hillsdale or nowhere.

I used to live there. It would be easy to secure. It’s 35 miles from anywhere.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding....we have a WINNAH!

She would be insane to get on the same stage with Trump. She does HORRIBLY in unscripted, unpredictable situations. And nothing fits that description more than one-on-one with Trump.

I live on Long Island ( 20 minutes away from Hofstra)
and would love to represent FR at the debate...if anyone has any ideas on how to score a ticket let me know. I am going to get in touch with my Congressman also, Peter King.

Why do we ask the debate host to pay for things like security and transportation? These are just debates they don’t need to be massive extravaganzas, they can be held in a small theater or auditorium. $8 million seems like a lot of money and I am sure these are costs that are being forced on the host by the FBI/Treasury/Local & State police and the parties.

If they are pushing the costs off to the host, then why aren’t these costs associated with the debates considered donations by the FEC? They want to have it both ways, push the costs off onto others but demand they provide a level of service dictated by the campaigns and federal agencies.

Those were my thoughts also. I’ve been following the Wright State story for some time. You have to figure Trump was going to embarrass the hell out of them too. With the H1-B scandal and all.

Don’t forget this is where the ass clown who rushed the stage in Dayton went to college. I’m sure he had some major plans ready.

Wonder if the gay marriage loving, open border GOPee Kaysuch had a hand in this?

Hofstra is not as liberal as you think. For a New York state school it’s borderline conservative.

Wright State should know there are just certain costs that must be borne if we want to be a multi-cultural society. $8 million in security isn’t too much to pay for the pleasure of having Muslims and Black Lives Matter folks in our country is it?
