Yawn. Ukraine is being invaded by Russia and won’t fight back. They took the cash bribes from the west under the condition they internalize the conflict. Now why should be care about Russian invasion when Ukraine government does not?

If there was ever a “Russian invasion” of Ukraine, everyone would know. It would be swift, overwhelming and brutal and the Ukrainian Army would be annihilated. As long as Kiev tries to hold on to the Donbas, the separatists will resist.

“...If there was ever a “Russian invasion” of Ukraine...”

There is a Russian invasion of the Ukraine via somewhat covert tactics.

“while Maryinka was fired at from grenade launchers”

So are the lines in a cease fire THAT close? That’s idiotic. OR, was somebody moving and attacking?

Uke stories are always a hoot. Like they have read too much WWII heroic soviet propaganda.

The invasion was from the Ukes. When you have a coup, you don’t simply inherit the old country. You only obtain sieze you can physically grab. And in the manner YOU grab the government, others have the right to grab what they want.

IE...if a violent coup seized DC, Texas would have a right to grab their region.

The maidan and Svoboda militias moved in to grab the east, and that’s when the people in the east fought back and got help from Russia where their trade was very heavy.
This war wouldn’t be happening unless Svoboda wouldn’t have invaded east. They don’t have any natural right to own eastern Ukraine.

You bootlicking Putinists said the same about Crimea. Then Putin handed out the medals. Russia destroyed over 100 miles of Ukraine-Russia border. Then invaded Ukraine with its army. That is beyond dispute except for dissembling supporters of the tin pot czar.

By that reasoning would you also claim that the United States "invaded" Syria, or did we actually arm and finance ISIS and other insurgents against Assad? The latter is clearly true. There is no doubt that Russia supports the Donbas separatists against the Ukrainian Army, but there has been no invasion. If there was, Ukraine would have no army.

Disagreement really bothers you, doesn't it? Russia clearly did take over Crimea with the forces that it already (and always had) stationed there. However, it also did so with the overwhelming consent of Crimea's citizenry.

Not that it would have mattered if the Crimeans had objected. There was no way that Russia was going to sit idly by and allow its sole warm water port and naval base fall to NATO after we instigated the overthrow of Ukraine's elected government. We were fools to even dream they would! Since the Monroe Doctrine began in 1823, we have asserted control of our entire hemisphere and crushed all outside challenges to our realm. It is lunacy to think that Moscow will not aggressively resist further US/NATO expansion against Russia's strategic Black Sea underbelly. Wars are started this way.

So since Stalin killed so many in the Eastern Ukraine in the 1930s and imported Russians it is “natural” for it to gravitate to Russia? There are many in the Lugansk area that are horrified by the separation. My wife’s family from Alchevsk is among them.
