CLEVELAND -- We didn't want them anyway.
That's what the primary voters said.
We didn't want them, we didn't want their priorities, we didn't want their way of doing things.
I'm talking about the Republican bigwigs. The royalty of the GOP. The people who've grown fat sucking off the teet of conservatives and Republicans.
The folks who have now said they won't come.
The folks who've put their noses in the air and said they won't attend the Republican National Convention.
The folks who've said that Trump and his people aren't the right kind of people, that somehow the party's candidate isn't their candidate.
We didn't want them anyway.
It's a long list of sore losers. Everybody with the surname Bush, John McCain and his acolytes, Rand Paul and John Kasich. They didn't get what they wanted, so they left in a huff.
Must be they never played sports as a kid. Must be they are so spoiled and entitled that they never learned how to lose with class. In life, you have to learn how to be a gracious winner and a good loser.
And these fatcats never caught on to that.
What makes that all the more irksome is that the very party they are now shafting has given them everything they have. Beyond the literally hundreds of millions of dollars donated to their various campaigns over a half a century, the efforts and votes of plain-old Republicans have given them a social, political and historical relevance they would never have had.
Without the Republican Party, not only would neither of the Bushes have ever been president, but neither of them ever would have been heard of. The father would have spent down his father's fortune -- without getting either the Navy commission or the entre to the oil business -- and the son would have been lost to obscurity. McCain would be a minor footnote to the Vietnam War and Romney would be just one more effete rich boy.
And Kasich would be schlepping his old man's mail bag.
Without the Republican Party, and the salt-of-the-earth Americans who are its soul and masters, none of these men would be anybody.
And this is how they repay that. This is the kind of gratitude these silver-spoon boys have. They will take, but they will not give.
So to hell with them.
Let them demonstrate just what sort of loyalty they have. Let their actions define their character.
And let them face the fact that the party they once lorded over has given them the finger.
At primary after primary, as Americans faced a choice, they chose against the establishment and they chose for the future. A bevy of official Republicans fell, one after the other, and the old guard was shown the door.
It's no loss now that they won't darken the door.
The press will talk about division -- that's how the press divides -- and some will reference the absences. But yesterday's news is fast forgotten, and yesterday's politicians are today's jokes.
The bigwigs aren't coming to the convention.
That's because they aren't welcome.
EXCELLENT. Who can forgot the lectures about McCain and Romney? “The primaries are for choosing, and then we MUST ALL UNITE for the candidate.”
I am absolutely sickened by this lot of Losers!!!
I’m sure glad Romney didn’t shoot for Glomley in earnest.
He was merely one more tactic used against Trump in a year that revealed every type of negative tactic that can be used against a candidate.
This election season will become one that will be studied more than any other election year.
There are examples of very ploy possible. No need to study other years.
And Ryan should join them instead of pandering and lying at the Convention.
Trump has won already because he has blow up the Bush dynasty.
They’re people who would be nobody if people hadn’t worked hard to make them a success.
Gratitude and grace are not among their noted qualities.
Their decision not to attend the convention says a great deal more about them than it does about Trump.
DAMMMMM that’s some good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bob Lonsberrry used to be part of conservative radio heaven when I worked in Rochester, NY - with the 5 L’s all day long Liddy,Lonsberry,Limbaugh,Dr. Laura, and Levin.
I dont get up to Rochester much anymore- wish I could hear him.
excellent
Maybe he would have had a dingy downtown law office where he scanned the court records for recent collection filings so he could either go and offer his services to the collector or to the debtor to represent them in a bankruptcy filing.
Yup!
Nice...posted to my Facebook page.
You nailed it...
EXACTLY.
Like I said before. King George III wouldn’t have been expected to speak at the first constitutional convention .
And the libs are just jealous that we were able to overthrow yeb! bush, and they are stuck with cankles.
That’s right.
I didn’t and don’t want them. Any of them. They can quit the party and go join the democrat party for all I care.
That includes almost every single elected Republican and a good number of un-elected Republicans.
Worthless trash.
It reminds me of the Senators who did not want Claudius as Emperor. They felt he had no experience in government. In short, they wanted to rule with their own chosen ruler.
But Claudius became Emperor and was a very good one and very good for Rome. He mended the broken country after the heinous rules of Caligula and Tiberius.
I look forward to Trump doing the same for the U.S. as President.
Yes, this is the boiled down truth of the matter.
None of these people would even be known without the Republican Party. And yet, they show their gratitude by kicking the rank and file Republican while wagging their fingers proclaiming they know better.
Good read
Hey Bob.
It’s “teat,” not “teet.”
At least get yer mammaries right. ‘Pod
