On Wednesday night, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) took to the Senate Floor to discuss his interactions with law enforcement. The conservative Republican said that the cops have stopped him several times in a year. In one instance, Capitol Police forced him to produce identification, despite wearing the official pin only given to members of the U.S. Senate. He said that he felt the pressure from the scales of justice when it's slanted, though that is not an excuse to attack and kill police officers (via Associated Press):

"I have felt the anger, the frustration, the sadness and the humiliation that comes with feeling like you're being targeted for nothing more than just being yourself," Scott said in a powerful floor speech reflecting upon the killings of police and by police that have shaken the nation.
He implored colleagues to "recognize that just because you do not feel the pain, the anguish of another ... does not mean it does not exist."

Scott talked about getting pulled over seven times in one year, and described an occasion when a police officer trailed him for blocks seemingly looking for a reason to stop him.
He talked about trying to enter the Capitol, as a senator wearing the official pin issued only to senators, and a Capitol Police officer stopped him and said: "'The pin I know. You, I don't. Show me your ID.'"
Question: Has this ever happened to a freshman white Senator?
Translation: me, me, me.
aaaaw shaaaadaaap!
Plays right in to the BLM narrative.
Translation: I’m one of the ruling elite, out of my way peasant.
May be he needs to change his party affiliation so that he can pursue the BLM agenda more openly.
You know, when I was in my 20’s I drove out to Colorado and some cops in a small town pulled my car over because they thought it was fishy to see an out of state license there, and then they asked if they could search my vehicle. Naively I let them (nothing found of course).
Once I was walking down the street of Minneapolis by a cop car and the police dog in the back seat began barking at me. The cop outside thought I did something on purpose to upset the dog and he said “would you like me to let the dog out to bite off your face?”
Some cops are just jerks and act mean to anyone. Imagine the feelings of victimhood if these things happened to this representative.
Leftist commenter I saw clams Scott is a well-known traffic scofflaw, with many unpaid tickets for moving violations - and that’s why he gets pulled over so much. Can’t verify the accuracy of this claim...
I would say, no, it hasn’t. Because the pin is the ID. I believe that very few Capitol Police officers know all 100 Senators on sight, which is why the Senators wear the pin. The fact that the officer recognized the pin and still stopped Senator Scott for ID reveals the problem that exists.
The man is holding him down? Yet he is a US Senator.
Why do the police find they have the need to stop black people is the question
Maybe he just wants fairness. Don’t we all?
I noted a number of years ago that the Capitol appeared even then to be under military occupation.
On a totally unrelated note, it is NOT cool when a “policeman” decked out like high-tech infantry sweeps passerby with his automatic rifle because he’s so bored to death on the job and unprofessional in manner that he doesn’t take the care to exercise rudimentary gun safety protocol.
Fact: 3% of the population commits 50% of the violent crime in this country. The senator happens to be in that demographic. Maybe he should tell his homies to stop, and he wouldn’t get pulled over so much.
The things your ruling elite masters take as insluts:
This guy gets mad about being asked for ID at a security checkpoint.
Oprah get mad when some some European shop girl tells her “hey check out this purse, it’s just as good as the one you are looking at and cost half as much”
Michele Obama gets mad when someone roughly half her height asks her for help getting something off the top shelf at Target.
I am outraged by their outrage, to be honest.
Or maybe you could find the strangled remnants of empathy in your soul and revive them just long enough to consider that maybe a genuine problem exists.
Next: Tim Scott cries about having his receipt checked when leaving Costco.
Yup. Another “Tea Party” candidate who got Potomac Fever....
Ah, he just doesn’t get that blacks committ so much of the crime that hey are targeted by police. That makes sense.
But if I were a black law abiding citizen, it might not.
Though I’ve been pulled over plenty of times in Southern NJ on the Garden State when I was younger.
We NYers and WOPs came every summer and ruined their beaches.
We also poured a fortune into them.
