The campaign has said a decision has not been made. The media is saying that it is Pence. I have a few concerns about Pence and thought I would voice them because, according to the campaign, they said Trump still has to make a decision.
These are two tweets already dug up by the press on Pence:
Governor Mike Pence Verified account @GovPenceIN
Trade means jobs, but trade also means security. The time has come for all of us to urge the swift adoption of the Trans Pacific Partnership
And:

Calls to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. are offensive and unconstitutional.
The other day he gave an interview and was asked about Trump's wall. He refused to say directly he was for the wall; he just said he is for Trump:

Per InfoWars:
While Trump has promised to build a wall, Pence has been savaged by respected conservatives like Pat Buchanan and Phyllis Schlafly for advocating stealth amnesty in the form of a guest worker program.
While Trump has campaigned against job-killing foreign trade deals, Pence vehemently supports NAFTA, CAFTA, and the TPP.
Pence voted for the Iraq war and opposed a withdrawal date even after it became apparent that U.S. involvement in the country was a disastrous policy.

CNN said last night that it was down to Christie and Pence. Trump's gut was giving ups Christie, and his family, Manafort, and supposedly establishment conservatives like Paul Ryan wanted Pence.
Trump is the man who has to work with this guy every single day. Christie and he have done so throughout the campaign. Christie bucked the establishment and endorsed him early, has been 100% loyal, has never said a bad word to the media, and he has supported Trump's campaign to the detriment of his NJ poll numbers. He also would do well in the debate and be Trump's attack dog. You might get from this that I'm a big Christie fan. I'm not. I just think that if these are our two options and if Trump's gut was telling him that, maybe that's where he should have gone.
I will support Trump regardless of who he puts on the ticket. Bottom line. My concerns are merely that Trump's VP stands firmly behind him, doesn't criticize him to the media, and agrees with Trump on policies.
Hence my concern. However, we have people here who support Trump who literally get made if anyone raises any concerns whatsoever.
Ivanka would be completely loyal and supportive of all Trump policies. A perfect team.
For me, Pence adds no excitement. I don’t love him, but I don’t hate him either. The thinking with Pence, per CNN, is that he tosses out a line to social conservatives and party establishment types (CNN laughably cites Paul Ryan) who doubt Trump is conservative. Will he excite the party brass into accepting Trump? It remains to be seen. Honestly, I don’t think Trump has to get the full party brass behind him. He ran as anti-establishment, and that is a drawing card.
Someone posted to me that Pence vetoed the Religious Freedom thing because he was afraid it would go to the Supreme Court and become another Roe vs. Wade type case. I don’t know enough to know whether or not that is true. I just remember being disappointed and shocked when he vetoed.
Christie is a flaming gun-grabber! Conservatives would stay home if Trump picked him.
Pence is the sane choice.
Gingrich would have been wiser. Maybe Pence, like Bush I, is the price for GOPe support.
One can hope. :-)
It’s interesting because I’ve never wished for you to get zotted.
I never do anything zottable. :-)
Neither do I obviously.
Well fortunately I don’t make those weighty decisions. :-)
I think I’d like to know what I’ve done that a) makes you hate me so much that you want me banned from this forum and b) is zottable to you but not the mods.
Can’t see what you posted. It’s showing up as two little blocks.
Still showing up as two black boxes.
And you don’t know what was said in his talks with Trump
Alex Jones is not my go to source for anything
I remember Papa Bush disagreed with Reagan (BIG TIME) yet he fell into line.
That’s true. His mind may have shifted. I don’t know.
I can unfortunately see Hillary getting some ad material out of these things like using Pence quote about the Muslim ban saying something like, “See, even his own VP said it was terrible.” That said, Trump has seemed to indicate his focus won’t be all Muslims but will be banning people from countries with a lot of terrorism.
Another thing Hillary will use is that Pence voted for Iraq war. Trump loves to attack Hillary for voting for the Iraq war. She’ll call him a hypocrite for attacking her and picking a VP that did the same thing she did.
I don’t know how many moderates these attacks will convince. Obviously there are some flexible people in the center because the poll numbers have shifted from Hillary to Trump and could easily shift back and forth throughout this campaign.
I wasn’t around then, but that’s good to know.
I’m not overly concerned about the VP, so have been half hardheadedly following it. I’m in for DJT no matter what. I like Newt. Some valid concerns about Pence after reading your post. I’m a big southeast 2nd amendment guy. It’s basically a litmus test for me. In most cases, how vigorously someone defends the 2nd, the more I’m inclined to trust them on other issues that are important. That a problem I have with Christy. I don’t know that I trust him on the 2nd. Someone might say, well Trummp said xxxx about guns a decade ago..., yea, but his son’s are strong 2nd amendment/hunting supporters and I sincerely think they’ve got him right on the 2nd. And he’s deomonstraited that he’s willing to take their lead on that topic.
