“Boring choice
looks old for his age
not exciting speaker
not charismatic”

Thus the reason why this person needed a wall of text to try to make this seem” logical”.

Sorry, I don’t see what Pence brings to the ticket. Boring choice. I was hoping for more excitement and someone with military background.

The primary ended in Indiana, the general might as well start there. I’m ok with that choice.

[Pence] looks old for his age

Lincoln looked old for his age in 1860.

From what I remember, Pence gave Cruz a lukewarm, almost forced endorsement. At the same time, Pence said nothing negative about President Trump.

Choosing him is in and of itself a presidential move.

This is the most important point here. Until now, Trump has been campaigning, and campaigning is all talk.

This is Trump’s first ACTION as presidential candidate, and it is a very well-thought out presidential move.

Pence isn’t perfect, but I don’t think the perfect person is out there. Certainly not old-man-fat-man Newt.

I like Newt a lot, I think he’s great, but he’s an old-man-fat-man and face it all you Newt-pushers, he would look ridiculous up there. Trump is first and foremost a media genius and a presidential campaign is first and foremost a casting job. The reason Trump went from zero-to-sixty in five seconds is he is cast perfectly as President of the United States.

If Trump picks Newt, he is casting Mr. Old-Man-Fat-Man as his running mate and is flushing his casting skills, and his media savvy, down the toilet.

There are basically three groups of voters out there with regard to Trump:

1) those who will vote for Trump no matter what (such as myself)

2) those who will vote for an Al Qaeda terrorist over Trump (all leftists and muzzies in America)

3) the apolitical dunderheads who bumble through life not realizing that we currently have an Al Qaeda terrorist as president (ok, a bit of an exaggeration, but you get my point) and get ALL their opinions about Trump from the Al Qaeda-loving news media.

It is this third group that Trump needs to address with a well-thought-out PRESIDENTIAL decision with regard to choosing a running mate.

The Al Qaeda News Media says Trump can’t be trusted to make PRESIDENTIAL decisions.

Choosing Pence proves them wrong.

Lets not forget Gov. Pence stated he needed executive exp. before he ran for President or chosen VP.

This why Gov. Pence ran and got elected Gov.

VP needs to be the one to attack for the ticket, that lets Trump be Presidential and discuss policy

This will be a brutal year, and nice guys will have a problem. That's one thing I was sort of looking forward to about Newt. You're right about Trump not having to be the only one on the attack.

hey, at least he is very Presidential! by now we have all seen hims speak. Remember when he spoke at that annual conservative convention? after that speech, we were begging for him to run. I mentioned this before, I think he will eat away at Hillary’s women vote. The guy is handsome, and very manly!

Also Qualye was not experienced enough. He might have been a good VP four or eight years later.

“Certainly not old-man-fat-man Newt.”

So we should pick people on how photogenic they are? How much they weigh and how old they are?

Hmm. Better idea. How about picking them on how good they’d be at the job?

Trump is 70 years old. Newt is 73. That in itself disqualifies him from being the VP choice.

Trump is already up there. He needs someone younger with him, younger but with great government experience to mollify those who worry about what happens if something happens to Trump. It doesn’t take a genius to see that.

And Trump is a media (and increasingly a political) genius. He probably saw it in the first 15 seconds he considered it.

I’m sure he likes Newt. What’s not to like? Always the smartest man in the room.

But his time for the Presidential Stage has passed and, frankly, he blew it in 2012. He should have been able to beat Putz Romney, and he couldn’t pull it off.

Can Pence run for re-election as Indiana governor and for the vice-president spot at the same time? Otherwise you would be asking him to choose between a virtual certainty of being re-elected governor and the relative uncertainty of being elected vice-president.

Do we need an attack dog this election? Trump does extremely well holding his own. From what I read, it appears Pence is squeaky clean. What could possibly hurt him,...other than the dead hooker or live boy scenario. I don’t see that happening. He is youthful. As much as I would like to see Trump/Sessions, I think it would be harder because of the age factor. He appears to be well liked by the people of Indiana and other republicans. Hopefully, that brings some unity to the ticket. Would he has some impact on the surrounding states, Michigan, Ohio or even Wisconsin.....sorry, Illinois is hopeless. I trust Trump. If this is his pick, he was vetted thoroughly and is the best fit.

If Pence goes VP will your friend Zeller step in the governor race? A Governor from southern Indiana again? He has the statewide experience
