Why work for 20,000 a year and partial benefits when you can sit at home with your family of four, get free health care, WIC, EBT cards, Section 8 housing, etc. and still work on the side for cash and pay ZERO taxes on the equivalent of about 60,000 a year in benefits with no drug tests, don’t have to show up at any certain time etc?

That 20,000 a year gets about 1,400 a year taken out immediately for payroll taxes.

20,000 a year is not a job in the United States. It is closer to servitude.

There are people who make that much on the side under the table.

The top make way too much and the bottom need to earn more.

Bump!!
You nailed it.
Benefits of not working exceed the benefits of working.
