Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) demolished FBI director James Comey’s claim Thursday that the government lacked sufficient evidence of criminal intent to prosecute former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for mis-handling classified information.

“So, you think there is nothing that can be done”

You know, I asked YOU what could be done, and as long as you refuse to state what you think should be done, than I can only assume you too believe that nothing can be done.

You fail civics 101, kid. Talk is not action, and there is plenty the Congress can do. My job isn’t to educate the snowflakes of the world.

ROTFLOL!

And STILL you have no answer about “what ACTION could be done”. Not even a SINGLE example! Not one. Now all you can do is levy ad hominem attacks. Pathetic.

Gowdy gave an excellent presentattion on the meaning of “intent” in a court of law.

Comey ws gobsmacked.

Comey is acting as Hillary’s defense lawyer. He is using the concept of “intent”.

If Hillary was being prosecuted for shooting a man, Comey’s defense would be:

“She didn’t know the gun was loaded”.

The fix is in, folks. The Clinton Crime Syndicate wins another one.

Comey inserting it was improper and probably unconstitutional. It was the act of a defense attorney not an investigator

Ah, but James Comey is no ordinary investigator. He is a Constitutional scholar, a renowned jurist who knows better than Congress does, what they meant when they wrote the law omitting "intent." And he is smarter than the prosecutors, so he was able to declare that it just isn't reasonable to prosecute Hillary Clinton with the evidence his crack team of investigators has uncovered. Send Congress home, let Comey write law. Send SCOTUS home, let Comey interpret it. Send the AG home, Comey can decide what to prosecute!

The only thing he can't do is understand the meaning of the word "wrong."

As he said today, "What do you mean by 'wrong?'"

Talk is not action. If all Gowdy and you can do is talk then just shut up. We Americans are tired of the talking. It accomplishes nothing. I know the world has taught you that talking is action but it isn’t. It is feminization, the idea that chatting is doing something.

Just shut up already. Sh*t or get off the pot.

Agree.

A sociopath like Hillary does not have the word “wrong” in her vocabulary.

My question is: “how did the Clinton Crime Syndicate get to a supposed renowned jurist and man of integrity (to quote a few) and make him a traitor to the USA and a perjurer?”

And, sad to say, it was way, way over the head of the Gowdy-Haters posting on this thread. They have no idea what you are talking about.

Aren't you the smart one?

That’s what she did.

Quite right. My point is that the case becomes problematic if the intent element is applied rather than a gross negligence element. Which is what Comey did in order to support his conclusion. As someone argued elsewhere, Comey was proceeding as a defense attorney might with a theory that might be difficult for a jury.

IMO, Gowdy should not have entertained an intent discussion but should have focused on her gross negligence. (He may have; I haven't read a transcript of the event.)

Almost everyone would agree that purposely operating a unauthorized scheme for several years that effectively posted our nation's top secret information in the public squares of hostile environments for the benefit of hostile actors - is grossly negligent even if one did not desire a hostile result.

oldbrowser said: "The FBI is basing the application of the 1917 law on judgments made during the last 90 years."

A question I would like to hear asked is, "If Congress had passed in 2008 exactly the law passed in 1917, would Comey enforce that law or ignore it? How many years must pass in order for the intent of Congress to mean nothing?

All the while Comey says, no intent, can’t prove anything, she’s not that smart, she really didn’t know, blah, blah, blah.

I hope Congress asks FBI to prosecute the lawyers that looked thru Hillary’s classified emails.

I’ve only watched part of this today but Comey might as well have said. We just believed everything Hillary told us because....well, she’s Hillary. So yeah, no intent, no charges.
He has contradicted hisself soooo many times and proven that he let her go because she’s Hillary. Don’t think anyone else would just be taken at their word.

If Hillary;s true to form she'll ‘reward’ those who help her... uranium for Russians? No problem.

New repairs for the crumbling FBI building? A few thousand new agents to keep tabs on ‘domestic terrorists’... AKA Christian American citizens. No Problem.

Invites to A-List Parties?

Hundreds of agents to ‘investigate’ police officers???

YOU BETCHA.

The ‘Ferguson effect’ is just the beginning... The ‘corruption effect’ will put that one to shame. An epic increase in corruption among the scummy so-called elites... “Do YOU know who I am” will be the clarion call of the corrupt while old school law enforcement damn well better bow down... maybe grovel a little, kiss the ring..

Ya know, it just occurred to me that this might not be completely over for Hillary. Two things...

1. Comey admitted today that she lied to Congress. If Trump’s coattails are long enough, then the next Congress might grow a pair, and they can charge her with perjury.

2. A new Attorney General next January, if Trump is elected, can simply reject Comey’s recommendation.

H.A. Gowdy, or “H.A.” for short.

Hot Air.

He’s kinda like Issa, says a lot, yells, sounds really bright, but in the end, doesn’t do anything but talk and create sound bytes.

Should any Democrat be scared of him?

If so, why?

What difference does it make? No praise for Gowdy; he did the same thing that Comey did - Protect the witch.

Birds of a feather.
