Depending on how this news is handled and reported there could be a tremendous reaction. Keep in mind this is a story from the New York Times They have tremendous credibility on the left and so would be very difficult for this to be explained away.

A campaign ad from the Trump organization featuring quotes from The New York Times would go a long way to spreading this story and giving it the force and credibility it deserves.

I think that's wishful thinking. The quote from the NYT already acknowledges the sale and the link to the Clinton Foundation, so they've already dealt with it to the extent that they will. They're not going to run further stories that would hurt their gal HRC. Nothing will come of this.
