I’m a millennial and my generation sucks
NY Post ^ | 7/4/16 | Johnny Oleksinski

....At 26, I’m stuck in the middle of the world’s most maligned, mocked and discussed age group. And I hate it. Imagine being forever lumped into a smug pack of narcissists who don’t just ignore the past, but openly abhor anyone and everything that came before them.

.... Bernie Sanders obsessives who preached reform and inclusion by berating their closest friends and family for daring to think differently....

...My millennial friends want me to be hopelessly nostalgic for the ’90s, obsessing over which “Saved by the Bell” character I’m most like...

...Perhaps their messiah complex is a result of being coddled, petted and worshiped like toy poodles from infancy all the way to college...

....but we can turn it around, millennials. Here’s how. Action item one: Stop blaming everybody. Don’t blame the big banks, don’t blame your mom...By absolving ourselves of responsibility, we’ve become forever 8-year-olds, tattling on the world in hopes it will better our situation. It won’t. It will only make it crummier.

...Action item two: Stop being so insular...you’ve curated your social media accounts — where most of your interaction takes place — to be in total agreement with your opinions.

...Action item three: Stop waiting around for something big to happen. Getting a job is hard. Filling out a million online forms isn’t enough. Primping your LinkedIn and hoping your God-given greatness will finally be recognized by everybody else like your grandma always said it would will get you zip, zilch, zero. You need to leave your apartment, meet people, be assertive, interested, open. I’ve gotten full-time jobs by sitting at bars and dancing at wedding receptions.

So many of them were not taught correctly perhaps at home and in the schools and public sphere.

They’re fiction authors, spinning elaborate yarns about their fabulous lives: “The Great Cathy” or “Asher in the Rye.”

Classic. Worth the price of admission.

They’ve never had to accomplish anything. That’s why their generation sucks.

Just work hard Johnny and don’t let a bit of sweat slow you down.

Learn what you can and show it. That is America.

Good boy.

I’m 48 and I just did the Craziest thing! I wanted extra money for my donations to Trump, FR, the Vets and my cousin’s illness, AND I wanted more leisure money for going out to eat, movies, vacation.

So I got a 2nd (part time) job. Not glamorous. But it serves its purpose.

That’s what CAPITALISM is.

“Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! “ Rocky Balboa

don't worry, generation by generation it is only going to get worse.

We have allowed liberal scum to infest our schools, and even convince the gullible masses to let them get to children sooner (Pre-K) so they can start warping their minds even sooner (let's have four year olds stand up in the classroom with their hands over their head and recite, “Its O K , to be gay” Wish I had made that up instead of it being true.)

While everyone focuses on the top (ie Presidents) liberals are wrecking the country from the bottom up. Takes longer, but is much more devastating.

“They’ve never had to accomplish anything. That’s why their generation sucks.”

Either WWIII or the coming Civil War will dissuade them of any illusions of entitlement...and it will give them something to do! ;)

It’s often why wars happen in the first place, because the population has become fat and happy.

Kudos to this young man for not only recognizing the problem, but for providing solutions:

"Action item one: Stop blaming everybody. Don’t blame the big banks, don’t blame your mom...By absolving ourselves of responsibility, we’ve become forever 8-year-olds, tattling on the world in hopes it will better our situation. It won’t. It will only make it crummier."
"Action item two: Stop being so insular...you’ve curated your social media accounts — where most of your interaction takes place — to be in total agreement with your opinions."
"Action item three: Stop waiting around for something big to happen. I’ve gotten full-time jobs by sitting at bars and dancing at wedding receptions."

The following applies to every American no matter the age and needs to be repeated to the nth degree. "Stop blaming everybody. Don’t blame the big banks, don’t blame your mom...By absolving ourselves of responsibility, we’ve become forever 8-year-olds, tattling on [or whining about] the world in hopes it will better our situation. It won’t. It will only make it crummier."
