I attended functions where businesses were involved in charity auctions.... then took tax deductions on the money spent. For a foundation to do the same appears to me to be completely legal. I assume the Trump foundation owns the helmet and in turn can donate it or whatever.

Charities give to other charities all the time. I didn’t see a big commotion when the cancer society donated money to Planned Parenthood...

will it could be argued that whatever the Washington Post pays these writers could be classified as Charity. They certainly hadn’t done anything worthy of a paycheck.
