Trump gets it right on Jerusalem
CNN ^ | Jason Greenblatt

It seems to be a regular feature of the U.S presidential election cycle: Candidates from both parties solemnly pledge to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, only to sidestep the issue upon taking office. Shouldn't the selection of a capital city rest solely with the people of the country who reside there?

Donald Trump believes it should. As president, he would recognize the right of the Israeli people to choose their capital city (a choice, incidentally, that has remained unchanged throughout 3,500 years of uninterrupted Jewish presence in Israel).

That choice is Jerusalem.

Ever since King David established Jerusalem as the capital of the Land of Israel three millennia ago, the city has held unique significance to the Jewish people -- both geographically and spiritually. Prior to modern times, Jerusalem largely comprised what is commonly referred to today as the Old City, the eastern section of Jerusalem (sometimes called East Jerusalem) where Judaism's holiest sites are located, including the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

The Temple Mount is considered to be the holiest place in the world for Jews, while the Western Wall is the remnant of an outer wall of the Second Temple, and is especially dear to Jews as it is the location closest to what was the holiest part of the Second Temple. The Old City also contains churches, such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and other areas that are of great importance, historically and prophetically to Christians. Muslims, for their part, revere the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock, a site constructed in the 7th century on the site where the Jewish temples once stood.

History records that only twice have invaders managed to expel the Jews from the Old City (though never from Israel entirely):

As the Most High has spoken: “I will bless those who bless Israel, and curse those who curse Israel”.

Only a fool goes against the God of Israel; the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And Donald J. Trump is no fool.

The Arabs + Muslims + Antisemites + Euroweenies _ UN and general Jew haters don’t want to be confused by the facts.

I thought the problem was that Jerusalem is the Israeli capital but the USA refuses to move the Embassy from Tel Aviv

This fight was being fought when I was but a child. Fast forward to today and the fight Israel continues to have to wage is only an indication our enemies never give up.

The US should stand with our friends, Israel, but keeping our nose out of their business. We in this country should be more concerned about our own capital and its ultimate move to Leavenworth.

God bless both countries. Israel and America!

There's a reason why the masons use the scimitar and star logo, and it aint because they think it looks cool.

This mudslime uprising thing has been planned from a long time ago, otherwise we would have told them to eat sand back in the 70's!

“History records that only twice have invaders managed to expel the Jews from the Old City (though never from Israel entirely):”

I love this statement from the article.

So, exactly when did the Arabs (muslims) invade and conquer Israel?

We are talking about Jerusalem D.C., David's capital. Since 70 AD, it has never been the capital of anything else. The Romans named the area Palestine to insult Jews. There are no native Palestinian people except the Jews, who have lived continually in Israel.

Until 1967 the Arabs referred to themselves as Arab or Jordanian. They stole the name Palestinian from the Jewish settlers, who called themselves Palestinian until 1948, when Israel once again became a nation.

Every time you dig a hole over there you find proof that Jews were there first, and have continued to live in the area since 1500 BC.

In 617 AD a small synagogue on the Temple Mount was destroyed. Muslim invaders conquered Israel in 637 AD, and built a wooden mosque housing 3000 worshipers over ruins on the Temple Mount.

Fifty years later in 691 Ulmar ordered the building of the Dome of the Rock. It's purpose, per the 10th-century muslim historian al-Muqaddasi, was to compete in grandeur with the city's Christian churches.

Jerusalem is a Jewish name, and Western histories document the Jewish presence in Israel and Jerusalem. In Rome there is an arch that depicts the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, and the carting of the Temple's menorah to Rome. Yet muslims insist that Jews have never been in Jerusalem or Israel.

The most important question is if you are Arab, why are you outside of Arabia. Maybe we need to conquer Arabia, and then demand that all histories be rewritten to state that Arabs have never been in Arabia.
