If the EU is supposed to have made trade and travel in the EU easier I’d hate to see how bad it was before. I worked on a project in Bulgaria and shipped things acros Europe. It took days that could become weeks to make a truck transit from Germany to Bulgaria because of all the regulations we had to deal with.
And TAXES! You can hardly imagine how expensive the taxes are.

Now that is an interesting comment. Was the material shipped oversize or hazardous or something requiring special permit ?
I thought freight could transit unimpeded even across the channel.
