Awesome response to the #NeverTrump handwringers! Cannot believe the serious consideration of propaganda put out by NPR by some FReepers.
You tell me. Anyway, what specific points do you disagree with?
Timing is everything. It's June, hot, summer vacation, the candidates are chosen. Who cares? It's boring....
Time to strike Hillary is close to the election when folks are paying attention, when it matters because they will vote, and when she won't have time to respond and counter.
Trump is master of the surprise.
I agree, but as the article I posted pointed out, he really could have used them to his advantage more than he did.
Even Rasmussen and One America News had him losing, though.
I aim to please.
Yeah. Right. That's Trump's MO.
Good call, Texas Eagle! :)
Trump HAD a plan. He has been talking for months abuot working with the RNC and outsourcing a lot to them. Even mentioned raising $1 billion WITH the RNC. I think he was caught a bit off guard by the full Goldwatering he is getting from Romney, Ryan and Cruz. So now we get Plan B on the fly.
Please pass on my concern to that lot, my deepest concerns. My brow is furrowed with concern.

Here’s a dollar to a doughnut that Trump has a healthy lead in the polls on September 15th.
The biggest hit to his poll numbers in the last month was due to the Mexican judge controversy.
Nope. The continued green lighting of the fragging of Trump by party leaders and former candidates is keeping some natural poll support from Trump. Supporters of other candidates feel no rush to jump aboard the Trump train when their “leaders” have not.
A good thing the first Trump University hearing is scheduled for the first day of GOP convention which if we are lucky could actually work to save him from himself this time. The larger point is he needs to set the groundwork, make hay while the sun shines and not count on something happening to Hillary or with other surprises being able to pull this out from behind at the last minute.
Lot of advice on this thread for guy who had no chance from day 1 of his campaign. He’ll win it his way or not at all.
I hope you are right.
First, no every poll does not have him losing. He has been tied in PA and down a couple in VA. He has led a couple of national polls, trailed very closely in most, been down a lot in a couple of bogus Dem +10 polls. More important, at the state level, it’s been tight, up and down. He has been steadily ahead (narrowly) in FL, a larger margin in NC and GA, and 2-4 in OH.
That’s pretty much the race right there. Cankles drops behind in those states, she’s done.
As to all these “Gee, a ‘real’ campaign would have done x, y, z.” I am not concerned in the least. It’s June.
I just did a survey of polls, posted here on FR, that should reassure you: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3440835/posts
The fact is, whoever leads in June is MORE likely to lose in November. The main thing Trump has to do, which he is doing constantly, is “defining” Cankles as “Crooked Hillary.” Again and again, and again. Post-mortems of the 2012 race show that Romney was pretty much finished before the race really started because he never countered the agitprop from the Obama campaign. Trump is hammering her at every turn. Like body blows to a boxer, these don’t show up immediately, but really take a toll.
Yeah, I got out in the real world last week and it is a scary world.
Exactly.
“Aside from his base, everyone else seems to hate Trump with amazing passion.”
I have several family members in FL, VA, and CA that usually vote Dem who are now either fully and enthusiastically on the Trump Train or they are very seriously considering supporting him. Beyond this, I have actually come across Bernie supporters who are for Trump over Crooked Hillary (after the first one, I got over the initial shock). Trump is definitely getting a decent chunk of the normally Democratic vote. How much impact that has really depends on how many Republicans stick with him or jump ship at the same time.
