Brexit would be good for the EU because it would allow Brussels to grab more 'power and strength,' a top German Eurocrat has said. Günther Oettinger, the European Commission's digital chief, said Britain's exit would allow the EU to 'develop a new perspective' and 'gather new dynamics'. Brussels would be able to speed up development of its common security policy, foreign policy and anti-terrorism powers because Britain is one of the main opponents to further European integration, he said.
