I would suspect their equivalent of an “October Surprise” by the anti-Brexit forces who needed a martyr. “It has been announced the Vote Leave and Remain have suspended campaigning in the EU referendum in light of the attack.”
Stuart Varney is reporting every few minutes that the shooter screamed “Britain First” during the attack and that the Brexit forces have suspended their campaign. Although the details in the early reports are not completely clear, he is saying this was a political attack. This attack will be used as much as possible to sway voters to stay in the EU. No details on the shooter yet, but the timing begs the question of his background and why he did it.

Pretty weird situation. The look of the guy adds up to someone being from Britain First, but no one heard him shouting these slogans apart from a foreign guy...
