The biggest of course, if You have an Ipad 2 you are SOL. No longer supported.
Apple has just screwed their users again. Then again when does Apple do anything for anyone but itself.

Not having an accessible battery is an eventual KOD.

I look at it as no longer having to endure upgrade notices.

Psst--the iPad 2 dates from March 2011. That thing is over five years old and should be replaced by the current versions of the iPad (mini, Air 2 and Pro) at least by this fall.

Not related to OS10 but it is a serious flaw none the less. On my Samsung you have to almost destroy it to get the battery out. A lot of phones have that issue. I do believe Apple pioneered that feature.
I try to never let it get below 40%.

He is just trolling as usual. Doesn’t seem to care how old his bait is.

Says who? Because Apple says so? The real issue is it will be unusable because if security issues if no further updates are released.

To be fair, other folks do the same kind of crap on windows threads and android shreds. Par for the course.

You don’t have to do that. The battery management software in modern laptops and personal devices is designed to ensure that the battery is neither overcharged, nor allowed to discharge too much.
Given this, the true enemy of battery life becomes number of cycles, and even then, the batteries last many, many cycles.
You’re better off just using the device normally and either charging it at night (if you use it heavily), or just overnight when you need to (if you don’t).
At least it’s not NiCad.

I wiped my old 2 and now use it for Tv in the kitchen where I don’t have cable. Works like a charm while my newer iPad goes with me everywhere.

Will Windows 7run on a 386? Heck, Windows 7 won't run on a Pentium-II (Win7 requires 1GHz CPU, Pentium-II only goes to 450MHz), much less a 486 or 386.

False analogy, a 5 year life cycle and a 20 year life cycle are not the same. Besides, if you want to compare apples to oranges, Windows XP was released in 2001 and support for that just ended with a very early notification period. Not just 3 months.

The problem with the iPad 2 is the combination of a very slow (by modern standards) A5 system on a chip CPU/GPU and only 512 MB of RAM. As such, it's a bit of a laggard running iOS 9.3.2; the iPad Air I have now running iOS 9.3.2 with no problems, though I am thinking about finally replacing it with the iPad model coming out in early November 2017.

I don’t understand that bit of conventional wisdom.
Why are we REQUIRED to upgrade perfectly good devices with extremely expensive new ones when the old ones are perfectly serviceable?
I can’t stand Apple products, period, but this is more of a general question.

"On my Samsung you have to almost destroy it to get the battery out. A lot of phones have that issue" Which Samsung?? I have several Samsung Android devices (but not a phone). Accessing the battery is dead easy. There are several videos on YouTube that show the technique.
