I’ve got to agree that a felon who has served his time should be given his rights.

If he is a bad enough felon that his rights should be curtailed, then keep him in prison.

Either he is rehabilitated or he is not.

If not, don’t turn him loose, and don’t give him voting rights.

There's a question whether McA has the power to blanket 200,000 felons w/ voting rights. He does have the power to individually consider cases.

“Either he is rehabilitated or he is not.”

Prison is not a rehab clinic.

A child molester can “serve his time”, then he can cancel your vote. Fair enough?

What say you of felons who the Guv commuted or pardoned their sentence...not actually serving their full sentence?

Kinda like the larger portion of the 200,000 cited in the article?

Either he is rehabilitated or he is not.

LOL - you're kidding me right? NO ONE thinks most of these thugs are 'rehabilitated'. They served their time. Period.

The culture's grown up since the 1950's...

I’m inclined to agree with Westbrook except give them a 10 year moratorium after they get out. Prison doesn’t rehabilitate anyone but if someone wants to become a good citizen, they will stay out of trouble for 10 years.

I prefer the original method - if one wasn’t a productive citizen then one did not get to vote - we diluted the Constitution and what the Founders intended when we kept opening the door for more and more to vote - to the point where many want illegal invaders to be able to vote....PC thinking has invaded many minds with a “sense of fairness” that makes no sense when it comes to the viability of the Nation/Constitution/People.

Not felons who prevented the victim from voting ever again, as a start.

“I’ve got to agree that a felon who has served his time should be given his rights.”

He’s given his ‘rights’ the DAY HE DIES. That was part of the deal in Virginia - you do the crime, you serve the time, and you NEVER vote again. EVERY FELON knew this (or should have known this) before whacking someone in the hood.

I’m sick of people that claim to be on our side trying to find ways to increase the Democrat vote - no different than the RINOs pushing Amnesty or Billy Crystal trying to engineer Hillary’s victory.

Hopefully the courts ENFORCE THE LAW, but that doesn’t seem to happen too often.
