The legislature better get their sh1t together.

People need to get this in federal court to stop runaway asset forfeiture crap like this.

Oklahoma has now been added to my never-visit communist state list.

How would have thunk it?

As much as I distrust Snopes on all things political, they do have actuals to more than panicky bloggers. The ERAD is for prepaid cards, such as those used by illegals and drug smugglers. So, if you travel with a wallet full of prepaid Visa cards, then you have something to worry about.

But it cannot clean out a bank account.

I already know the IRS can do that about state or federal taxes. This usually does not happen, but they do have that power. All banks must bow to their demand. If you mess up on a pay back agreement with them about old unpaid taxes, they’ll do it without batting an eye to how it effects your life.

And, when they first passed the seat belt law in Pa, they PROMISED citizens they would NEVER be pulled over for just that “minor” infraction. Now, they have CLICK IT OR TICKET”

And, when tasers were first used by police, they PROMISED they would be VERY CAUTIOUS and JUDICIOUS in their use, and ONLY be used in rare circumstances. NOW, they are commonly used against citizens.

Nothing to worry about? I don’t care to be a frog in warm water, thanks.

And I SURE don’t trust our GLO-BULL-IST “rulers” when they “reassure” us.

I know people who put their entire pay into prepaid credit cards. They aren’t doing anything illegal. They just want the convenience of a credit card, without racking up large bills.

You know every place has ticket quotas.

If they cant ticket, they will just wait for expensive vehicles and asset fofeiture them.

“Oklahoma Police can seize your ENTIRE Bank Account on a Traffic Stop WITHOUT ANY CHARGES”

Probably not wise, especially with the boomer generation or older...What percentage would seek their own justice? 5 or 10 percent maybe? Give somebody nothing to loose and it could get dangerous for you...

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not supporting this police state BS, just like I always said that cash, car, and property seizures for any reason is wrong. I don’t even agree with the seizure laws on poaching. In America, we arrest criminals. We don’t arrest property!

I’m just pointing out that the headlines are a lie.

But, if someone puts their whole paycheck into something as risky as prepaid credit cards, then they are up to something like working “under the table”. There is a new thing called the debit card that’s only been around for about 35 years, but they should look into that new technology if they are truly on the up and up.

“Target” them, don’t go to the hundreds of casinos and let them know why you are forsaking them .... the Indians will straighten them out pretty quickly!!!

They are not working under the table. It’s just their way of budgeting their income, because the prepaid credit card interests are all paid upfront.

I’m not buying it. Maybe you don’t know the whole story either. Debit cards are much less risky and have NO interest.

This is now being treated as though it were cash. And it is. If you lose your debit card you can usually cancel it and any unauthorized charge is voided. If you lose that prepaid card it’s like cash gone, it won’t be replaced.
