Donald Trump's Twitter May Shed Light On VP Search
CNN ^ | June 9, 2016

Donald Trump took to twitter Wednesday night and with the push of a button, perhaps shed some light on his VP choice -- just as his advisers hoped he wouldn't do.

Just before 10 p.m., Trump retweeted a supporter who said: "@KathyCeurter: @realDonaldTrump please Mr.Trump make @SenatorJeffSessions your VP. He is a perfect running mate.' He is a great guy!"

I just checked his twitter timeline, Trump didn’t retweet about Megyn Kelly and Heidi Cruz, I think the poster was referring to his original retweets.

VPs do not get the nominee elected as president

I think this is a special case. Trump needs a very credible VP pick to give undecideds a better comfort level. A lot of them are planning to sit this one out. He can't afford that. The lower the turnout, the easier it is for the Rats to steal the cheese.

While Flynn is greatly valued, he would be a great Sec. of Defense.

CruzNEVER.

TRUMP may have Scott Walker, who has not endorsed TRUMP either, on his imaginary list of VP choices, pressured by Priebus, pestered by stinking Ryan— the Three Horseman — Walker, Priebus and Ryan. Establishment, all.

I didn’t like seeing Newt commit suicide, but I have full faith in Sessions and would welcome him as the VP choice.

Sessions as VP! Sessions then asks governor to replace him with Steven Miller however I don’t think Steven is from Alabama!!!

I dunno, Red. McCain was assisted by the Palin pick, though not with me. Never McCain.

A bad pick is costly. A Walker pick, or Establishment pick would be so much more divisive for TRUMP than a Sessions pick.

Walker would be loyal first to Ryan, rather than TRUMP.

I see Trump has great potential to pull in millions of new voters who haven’t voted in years or decades as they are disgusted with DC politics regardless of who he picks as VP. That being said, Sessions would be a solid pick.

They keep putting that football down and you people keep trying to kick it and then Trump pulls it away.

I have said several times that I think Trump is a political genius, besides just being a genius.

That said, I can’t believe he would pick Sessions. Why would Sessions want to be vice president, a demotion. Senate majority leader, Supreme Court Justice? Remember Sessions signed on EARLY and I doubt it was over his excitement of being picked for Veep!

I am telling you it will be a woman. It MUST be a WOMAN!
Trump is running against a woman (some would argue that point). Trump has a political problem with women voters in general. A blind man could see why Trump MUST choose a woman. Forget which state they are from, “it’s their sex stupid”.

Marsha Blackburn (U.S. House, Tennessee) , my first and best pick.

Kristi Noem (U.S. House, South Dakota)
Joni Ernst (U.S. Senate, Iowa)

I keep getting these two mixed up. House/Senate, Iowa/South Dakota.

What puts Marsha Blackburn ahead of these two is that Marsha has WAY MORE experience.

I doubt Trump will make his pick based on what “state” they are from. It may be a small consideration, as in “do no harm”. For instance, don’t choose someone from the northeast.

Trump has said he will choose someone with political experience.

“I probably will go the political route,” he said on Morning Joe. “Somebody who can help me with legislation... Somebody who can help me get things passed and somebody who is friends with the senators and the congressmen.”

I believe him.

I did once.. her running mate was a dip though...

(good reply...)

Unfortunately, we now have one half of the Rino Twins in office.

One (Ryan) said that he didn't want the job, but after accepting it, went on to disregard rank and file conservative voter input.

The other, Romney, lost (twice).

“Rand Paul. Book it”

Could be, but I don’t think they like each other.

No can do - he is ineligible to be Sec Def until 2021 - since he retired in 2014. He has to be out of the active duty military for 7 years (used to be 10).

Rand is pretty sharp and I always thought he should have been in the top 5 tier in the debates lineup. I can’t think of any negative position of his. Regardless, I thought Trump wanted a VP with military experience.

I did wonder about that after I posted. So does this mean he could be placed at the Pentagon in some high capacity at all?

Thank you very much for the correction and verification, *hunter. .)

I like Rand. He needs to wash his hair though. He has that DNC chairwoman’s look.

According to Bloomberg, Trump is also vetting 2 retired military guys and one former primary opponent (who I suspect is Cruz).

Could be Perry or Duncan Hunter.
