Buzzfeed Pulls Out Of $1.3m Advertising Deal With RNC Over Donald Trump

BuzzFeed has pulled out of an advertising agreement with the Republican National Committee over objections to Donald Trump's rhetoric.

The buy was for $1.3 million, a source close to BuzzFeed told POLITICO. The source said that the main consideration was the site's employees – that BuzzFeed could not countenance "having employees make ads, or working at the company and having our site promoting things, that limit our freedom and make it harder for them to live their lives."

Asked if the site would rule out any Trump advertising, the source said the specifics would matter: "In general, we have taken the position that we won't take ads for his presidential campaign."...

If BuzzFeed collects fees for Hillary’s ad campaign there will be hell to pay.

Buzzfeed’s illegal alien employees objected.

Buzzfeed must stand on their principles or lack thereof.

My sister in law made a wonderful wedding cake for my wife and I. But if I had instead gone to a bakery and asked them to make one for us and they told me they couldn't because it was a Christian wedding and they were devout in some other tradition which did not recognize Christian marriage and they recommended another bakery...the last thing on my mind would be to sue them. They just lost my business. There are other bakeries. And of course there is my sister in law who bakes wedding cakes and would to it for us for free.

BuzzFeed is hurting themselves not Trump. They are making it even more clear their journalism is merely propaganda.

Basically, their position is that America must give in to the invasion of their country and if they don’t then they are morally repugnant. It’s an America must agree to suicide position.

I don’t think they understand that if ballots don’t work they’re leaving only one other option...short of intentional suicide.

It is amazing how many things are hammered on the Trump anvil and shown to be defective metal.

Go Trump!

I agree with that sentiment, but this would not a big enough slap down to get their attention in that way.

How about a court order to tear down major parts of San Francisco because of an endangered species?

It would be interesting to TEST THIS IN COURT. Rejecting one candidate’s advertising in favor of another candidate’s advertising sounds like an in-kind contribution to me, which is illegal.

“Buzzfeed’s illegal alien employees objected.”

I’ve been inside their Hollywood office. 90% white, with some token Asians.

They never had a “deal.”

I love it that even Buzzfeed is campaigning for Trump while being too dim to realize it.
