It’s not California. It’s the American hating deviate corrupt running LA City, SF etc.

Very similar to your own fed gov. They’re all in the same limo.

The well-connected and the idle rich always like to take regular American’s hard-earned money for their pet causes. It is nice to think that they feel the robbery too. However, like all other taxes on the rich they will carve out exceptions and I’ve several decades only working stiffs will be paying these types of taxes.

The income tax was originally sold as a tax on the rich and look how that worked out.

Should clear the small businesses out.

Why don’t they tax the wealthy; the folks sitting on 100’s of millions with their spending money doled out of their tax-exempt funds.

I’ve got an idea - tax the homeless! They will soon disappear when that happens.

They could have the homeless move into the multiple homes of the celebrities who hate America.

It will start out at a half percent. Which of course will not be enough. No amount is ever enough.

The bureaucrats and electeds will do very well, and the homeless will still be homeless. But the rich in L.A. are the Hollywood types, so let them knock themselves out sticking it to them, they’re too stupid to realize they’re being taken to the cleaners.

A One-half- of-one percent tax? That wouldn’t generate enough money to attempt to collect it. Where do they come up with these outrageous estimates of how much money they will be able to expropriate?

Socialism exemplified. This will only bring more homeless into LA and an exodus of those paying the tax out. Stupid idiots on the council--especiall that jackass nonpareil Eric Garcetti, what a fool this mayor has become. Who gives them the right to take from Paul and Pay Peter? II Thes. 3:10: For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. NEV (New English Version)

More liberal insanity. California will be a great example of how socialism will work in the US.

This never works. SF, Oakland and other cities have tried this, and all the money went for staffing of the department and no homeless people were helped.

Ginning up $250-300M per year means they can find $50-60 billion that folks will admit to on their taxes. The rich have high priced accountants for that stuff. This is simply the brain dead council wishing again.

Is Los Angeles trying to end homelessness by essentially putting the homeless on local welfare?
