Because those are the people financing their campaigns. Got to be real nice to them.

Even if the govt. DID enact and strictly enforce taxes on the extremely wealthy, it would yield no revenues, because the extremely wealthy and their lucre would simply fade away ("go Galt," find loopholes, relocate their funds, etc.).
