There was a time when people weren't against Syrians seeking refuge in the United States. There is now a disease that has been linked back to the refugees, and it's making some of those supporters question their decision. Even the people who are still in Syria are spreading the diseases that have been thought to be dismissed in the western world. Polio, measles and a flesh-eating disease have plagued Syrians, and wherever they go, the diseases seem to follow.
In 2013, the World Health Organization noted that there were 139 cases of measles and polio in Syria when only a few years earlier there were none. In 2014, there were over 7,000 cases of measles reported as well as a bacteria that eats the flesh called leishmaniasis.
Some believe that the reports of the bacteria have been under reported. Ulcers will appear on the skin and begin to eat away at the tissue and the muscle. Those who enter the United States are to undergo medical testing, but there is the potential that along the way, someone might enter the country who hasn’t been screened. The medical exam is only good for about six months, long enough for someone to enter and have the disease dormant without knowing that it's present.

Yep...
Ellis Island....
You came in, got screened for diseases, once medically cleared and you showed you were employed, sponsored, - think they even had makeshift schools....
Back then the entrants may not have tried to hard to learn the language (but you didn’t get very far if you couldn’t communicate with the natives) they made sure their kids and grandkids spoke the language.
The ONLY welfare was from relatives, maybe some church groups and a few funded charities (NO FED money)
Now ‘we’ give away free money, don’t screen for diseases, split families up and wonder why we have teen age feral animals prowling the streets, breeding a stronger class of feral animals, Welfare is a job and in a lot of cases if you add up all the bennies it pays much better than actually putting in a days work.
The SWHTF when the people they are robbing to keep the mooches going get a bellyful and either quit or go underground.
When the money dries up there will be chaos in the street as people fight over garbage and our ‘elites’ will be quoting Marie A.

That is exactly what is going on. When I worked for public health there was celebration that we had conquered measles here. Somebody in power thought we were too fortunate.
