Paul Ryan’s cold embrace of Trump
Politico ^ | June 3, 2016 | LOUIS NELSON

Posted on 06/03/2016 4:38:51 PM PDT by reaganaut1

If there was any doubt that Paul Ryan’s endorsement of Donald Trump was less than full-throated, he crushed it on Friday.

Less than 24 hours after Ryan announced that his “not ready” had become a “ready,” the House speaker ripped into the presumptive Republican nominee, making it clear he will not be Trump’s defender in chief.

Unprompted by WISN radio host Vicki McKenna, Ryan scolded Trump for his racially-based attacks against the federal judge in California overseeing a civil fraud lawsuit against Trump University.

“Look, the comment about the judge the other day just was out of left field for my mind,” Ryan said, after Trump argued that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel’s Mexican heritage creates "an inherent conflict of interest.”

“It’s reasoning I don’t relate to. I completely disagree with the thinking behind that. And so, he clearly says and does things I don’t agree with, and I’ve had to speak up from time to time when that has occurred, and I’ll continue to do that if it’s necessary. I hope it’s not.”

This is Ryan’s new fate — one day embracing the man taking a blowtorch to the Republican Party, the next day denouncing him.

Ryan’s ambivalence practically leapt off the page of The Janesville Gazette on Thursday. He offered only tepid compliments to Trump and chose not to explain exactly what had changed since May 5, when Ryan went on CNN to declare that he was “just not ready” to endorse Trump.

Paul Ryan is inherently cold, so that is all he is capable of.

Ryan IS dumb, very, very DUMB!

So dumb, that Joe Biden looked like a member of MENSA when he debated him.

He isn't in a "safe" district; Trump won it and did you HUGELY!

No, he didn't...You might want to check the district results for Ryan...

Trump did not win...

As for his re-election chances, It would not bother me at all if he was primaried out..

Popman this IS NOT about Ryan kissing Trumps ring this is MORE about the DAMNED budget that LYIN RYAN said was passed down to him when this BASTARD was the head of the budget committee and wrote the DAMNED BUDGET himself!!! Gave the damned DEMS EVERYTHING, didn’t even defund sanctuary cities and he has the audacity to say he has CONCERNS about Trumps true CONSERVATIVE values!!!! BS pure BS!!!

To be fair, it was Boehner budget handed to Ryan...

That fact he did nothing to "fix" the major issues with it is my concern...

Ryan and Politico both outright lied about things or they are just morons. The judge is a member of La Raza and that was Trump’s point as you pointed out. I’ve dealt with La Raza in Texas and it is a treasonist group run by lawyers. Unbelievably the group is a nonprofit. They pay their CEO over $400,000 a year. They are up to their eyeballs in getting money from the government all sorts of ways. The do as a joke because if they investigated La Raza they would find a lot to write about.

Ryan’s desire to provide ‘separation’ for his RINOs from Trump will lead to the devastation of the Republican House majority in 2018.
If they don’t cooperate with Trump the voters will continue their revolt.

Popman Boehner had nothing to do with writing budgets, ways and means committee write the budgets which Ryan was the head of I DO NOT believe for a minute Boehner had one finger print on that budget VERY easy for LYIN RYAN to put it in his lap!!! Just my opinion!!!!

Paul Ryan is Unelected.

The prior election was illegally cancelled by former Unelected Boener.

Have a real, honest election for House Speaker.

Ryan now has a problem.

Federal judges are subject to impeachment and removal processes through congress. By making a statement of any nature about support or non-support for the the judge in question concerning his actions with the Trump proceedings, he has disqualified himself from any action concerning the judge if there is a impeachment process that will have to come through the congress concerning the accusations Trump has made.

He should have kept his mouth shut. This was stupid!
