Is it pronounced like gwinnit or more like gwinette? I’m a New Englander, for reference purposes.

Having lived in The Berkshires, Springfield and just outside of 128 for a number of years I understand the dilemma.

I live fairly close to Cobb ("cob", not "cahb") but I am thankful that we don't have to work on our pronunciation of "wustah" or "nahwood". However, in Beautiful Bartow County we have "whytes" (for White, GA) and "newharlee" (for Euharlee, GA). To your question, it is more like "gwin-ette".

Thanks.

I grew up in Wilbraham, you may have heard of it, maybe not. The big claim to fame was it’s the Home of Friendly’s Ice Cream.
