Where is the administration getting the money to fund these Obamacare programs?
American Thinker ^ | June 1, 2016 | Rick Moran

Congress is looking into the funding for several Obamacare programs for which no money has been directly appropriated.

Earlier this month, a federal judge ruled that the administration is unlawfully paying insurers who are required to reduce costs for poorer customers on Obamacare’s exchanges.

But there are other Obamacare programs that the administration is running for which Congress has refused to fund.

...

Subpoenas ignored or willfully unfulfilled, stonewalling witnesses, and lies, lies, lies. Sound familiar? "The most transparent administration in history" has a game plan when dealing with Congress and they play it out to the letter. They even defy federal judges, daring the judicial branch to sanction them.

What resident Obama has done is empower the executive branch to do pretty much whatever it wants, whenever it feels the need. The next president, be they Republican or Democrat, will inherit this power and, given the nature of power, try to expand it.

The Constitution is becoming an inconvenience for the executive, rather than a rulebook to be followed. When the president refuses to "faithfully execute the laws" of the US, what do we have? A monarch? An emperor?

What we don't have is a president as envisioned by the founders - wielding power carefully balanced with that of the Congress and judiciary. At biggest risk is the individual liberty of the citizen. For without the protections guaranteed in the Constitution, our freedoms are frangible and can be taken away with little trouble.

We have a balless Congress unwilling to enforce its authority under the system of checks and balances.

They are too busy catering to their donor class and ceding their power to a faceless bureaucracy.

The president gets to use the military budget pretty much as he pleases. By the end of the Clinton years half of the air force and navy planes could not fly on any given day for lack of a significant subsystem. The spares budget was spent on social programs. Diapering AIDS babies in Africa was suddenly a defense priority and I saw photos of US soldiers in combat gear taking care of children.

I’d venture to say that when Obama leaves office the military will be in worse condition than when Clinton left office.

Where does Obamacare funding come from?

Try annual continual spending resolutions without specific budgets. Congress is an epic fail.

We have a Republican congressional staff that is either to lazy or too incompetent to do the research.

I’ll bet 99% of all HHS expenditures can be found with internet searches combined with FOIA of state agencies which are constantly being bribed with big bucks projects combined with friendly tips from staffers at the state agencies. With a little subterfuge, it isn’t hard to get the Fed staffers to boast about the projects they are funding.

We lose because we are either lazy or incompetent. This isnt just in HHS. Take vote fraud as a totally unrelated example. Conservative vote fraud groups are either lazy or ignorant in that they clearly dont know how it works.

While Obama may be spending money that Congress did not authorize, the bulk of the money spent on this unconstitutional socialist program was handed to him by the Republicans.

Tax Revenues to the Federal Government are at their highest level in History yet we are still running a Half Trillion Dollar Plus Deficit.

On top of that, thanks to low Interest Rates, carrying the massive National Debt that is currently $19.25 Trillion Dollars isn’t costing as much as it would in a normalized Interest Rate Market.

Thank you for referencing that article george76. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"Congress is looking into the funding for several Obamacare programs for which no money has been directly appropriated."

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Patriots, do not be fooled by another election year dog-and-pony show by Congress. The Founding States gave the “power of the purse” uniquely to the House of Representatives (1.7.1). But regardless that the Constitution forces the House to take responsibility for all federal spending, corrupt Congress is instead inventing diversions to abdicate its responsibility for taxpayer dollars.

From a related thread …

In this example, regardless what lawless Obama’s state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices want everybody to think about the constitutionality of Obamacare, note that a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified the that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes.

Remember in November !

When patriots elect Trump, they need to also elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trump, but also put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxing and spending as evidenced by unconstitutional Obamacare.

Note that such a Congress will probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.

From us

Nope. We, or us, have been tapped out for decades. This money is on your kids, Grandkids and their kids. Many blame "The Congress" for this mess, and to a degree they are correct, but the greater blame is with the Senate. As I recall, since 2012 The House has passed budgets but the Senate under Harry Reid and McConald have gone the CR route to keep from ruffling feathers in the executive branch.

You see the Obama Administration has gotten quite a sweet deal from the Congress. When the Congress voted in the Stimulus Bill in 2009, it's been Continuing Resolutions ever since. A CR simply gives last years budget a redo for this year. That means that Obama has $860 Billion of free cash to use as he sees fit EVERY YEAR. It sure beats budget fights and other such problems that previous Presidents have had to face.

All in all, a pretty sweet deal. And yes, if it ever gets paid back (A doubtful proposition.), it won't be us that pays, but many generations down the road that will be on the hook.

How in the hell are the controllers of the purse strings allowing money to be siphoned off for illegal enterprises?

They are complicit and trying to hide their complicity....

By not impeaching Obama, Congress is centrally responsible for this tyranny. The Turtle in the Senate and the commie heading up the house are responsible.

It’s like this Sparky.

You make yourself a pot of strong coffee and are about to enjoy it. The government comes along and dumps an equal amount of hot water into you pot of perfect coffee.

Now there is enough for everyone!

Weak coffee, weak dollar.
