The Justice Department moved Tuesday to fight a federal judges order that its lawyers undergo mandatory ethics training, digging in after the DOJ was accused of misleading the courts over President Obama's immigration executive actions.
In filings Tuesday, the department said the order would "far exceed the bounds of appropriate remedies" and would cost the department millions.
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen, of Texas, had issued the order earlier this month, after alleging DOJ attorneys misled him about the implementation of Obamas executive orders on illegal immigrants.

The Department of Justice responded in the court filing Tuesday, saying that it "emphatically" disagrees with the judges ruling, claiming that none of its lawyers intended to deceive.
The. Most. Corrupt. Regime. EVER.
These DoJ lawyers should be jailed for contempt.
Bingo. The ball is in Judge Hanen’s court. Didn’t Mr. Rhodes all but admit the administration LIED about their immigration antics?
The DOJ won’t even accept a minor corrective action from the Judge. He should’ve held the attorneys in question in contempt of court while they were before him and had the baliff take them into custody. They could then argue their case from a jail cell. That way, some punishment is actually carried out rather than endless appeals.
We don’ nee no steenkeen ethics!
The Deparment of inJustice lawyers LIED to a Federal Judge, they are lucky he didn’t put them in the pokey.
He really should have.
The illegal actions of the administration legalizing illegal aliens without ANY authority is an affront to all citizens and the rule of law.
Presidents cannot enact DREAM Acts that are not Acts because they did not pass Congress.
If we had an opposition party, they would have sued the day after he did DACA.
As it was it took the states suing to stop his SECOND illegal amnesty for illegal aliens, DAPA.
Both actions are unConstitutional and illegal.
If they were other than DOJ lawyers they’d be arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.
It seems to me that the very act of fighting is in reality an act
of contempt
the judge should send the US Marshal to arrest the Attorney making the complaint
A little jail time should set his attitude right
....The Justice Department moved Tuesday to fight a federal judges order that its lawyers undergo mandatory ethics training,.
The Obama tail wagging lackey lawyers are lucky Judge Hanen didn’t file an ethics complaint to their Bar Association.
Knowingly lying to the Court gets big disciplinary action from reprimand to suspension up to disbarment.
Of course, Obamas “Justice” Department is encouraged to act outside the law.
Appropriate remedies for the described misconduct are disbarment of the offending attorneys - which the judge alluded to while lamenting that he did not have the power to do so.
Government lawyers - so long as they are not engaged in “whistleblowing” - have an almost absolute de facto immunity for acts that a private lawyer would be sanctioned for in a “New York minute”.
Now, I am not saying that all government lawyers behave in such fashion - the vast majority do not - but when they do, so long as they are not criticizing their bureaucratic employer, they get the benefits of the 800-pound gorilla that is the government to protect them from what should be consequences.
And when word leaks out, it gives all government lawyers a black eye.
This is not a “lawyer problem”, BTW; it is a built-in systemic problem that is part and parcel of the nature of bureaucracy. It is one of 1,000,001 reasons why the Founding Fathers gave us limited government and warned us against government oppression.
This type of thing has been the nature of bureaucracy since the days of the Egyptian Pharaohs. The only remedy is to shrink the bureaucracy, starve it of funds, and limit its scope of action.
The opposite course inevitably leads to loss of liberty.
Disbar the whole DoJ and put the Lyncher in the pokey ‘till Bammy is over.
Maybe the judge is afraid that he will be invited to a hunting trip.
like garlic to vampires
Badges? We don’t need no stinkin Badges.
Option #2: prison, which is where many of these twisters of the actual Law belong.
The Judge was trying to be reasonable with the mandatory ethics training, now the DOJ has pissed him off! Time for the pop corn because you do not piss off a Federal District Judge!
This is what I posted earlier on this:
Lets hope the Judge takes them at their word on this motion, Yes I may have overstepped my authority issuing that order, it is rescinded.
I hereby find you in Contempt and sentence you to 120 days in Jail and a $100,000 Fine. Remanded in to Custody. Bailiff take him away.
Do this to EVERY DOJ Lawyer that walks in.
Cost too much?
The ethically challenged should attend on their own time.
Those opposing the DOJ should be assigned to lead the ethics rehab sessions. It shouldn’t cost the DOJ a dime.
When I get caught not wearing my seat belt or other unethcial behavior my employer doesn’t pay for my driving school sessions. I pay for them and go on my own time.
