Ben Sasse, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz Not Running as Independent Against Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton
Breitbart.com ^ | 30 May 2016 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 05/30/2016 9:29:36 AM PDT by Rockitz

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) will absolutely not be an independent candidate for president in November, his team confirmed to Breitbart News on Monday morning. A high-placed source close to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has also confirmed that it will not be him running against presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump and likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in November. Another high-placed source, this one close to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), has confirmed that the Texas senator—Trump’s last serious competitor for the GOP nomination—will also not be launching an independent bid for president in November.

Sasse, an outspoken critic of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump from the beginning, has said he will not support Trump in the general election against Clinton.

Sasse is still holding out against Trump, drawing criticism from even his fellow Nebraskan Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE)—who told the New York Times his strategy would hand Clinton the election.

“I don’t agree with his strategy,” Fischer said. “I’m not going to hand this election to Hillary Clinton.”

Bush and Trump, meanwhile, tangled roughly during the primary, and he has said he will not support Trump in the general election. Trump repeatedly called Bush “low energy,” and Bush made himself the tip of the spear against Trump for some time. Trump succeeded, while Bush failed, in the primary. Bush dropped out after a dismal performance in South Carolina, but he still refuses to back Trump against Clinton. ...

Sources close to several other potential high-profile independent candidates, such as 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney, have not yet confirmed one way or the other whether they are going to run.

“I don’t agree with his strategy,” Fischer said. “I’m not going to hand this election to Hillary Clinton.”

Pray tell Ben, which strategy do you prefer? The McCain strategy or the Romney strategy?

Mitt’s sour grapes for Trump’s success is palpable.

If the #NeverTrump crowd wants to settle on their “alternative”, then Gary Johnson, Libertarian party candidate, is their quickest and most viable stooge.

I cannot, for the life of me, picture ANY alternative to The Donald, by any combination of Republican-Conservative -Libertarian, who is positioned in an active and well-financed anti-Trump campaign, that would not inevitably swing the election to Herself. And ANY length of term of office by Herself shall only be a disaster for the future of that territory once known as “the United States of America”.

I want my country back.

Trump slams ‘spoiler’ bid after Kristol says independent candidate to run
Published May 30, 2016 FoxNews.com

Donald Trump took to Twitter Sunday night to slam fresh predictions from Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol that an independent candidate would soon be entering the race for president, warning that a 2016 “spoiler” could swing the race to the Democrats.

Kristol, along with other conservative pundits, long has been working to attract an independent candidate to run in November amid lingering concerns in some wings of the Republican Party about Trump’s conservative credentials. This effort to date has struggled to recruit a willing candidate, while running into logistical hurdles — including the rules and deadlines for getting new names on the ballot.

Yet on Sunday, Kristol teased a forthcoming announcement, saying on Twitter:

I’d be surprised if it is Romney because the blow back on the LDS Church would be immense. They’ve got a lot of exposed flanks so to speak.

We should be able to narrow it down a bit:

Arrogant
Member of the establishment crowd
Acceptable to the cheap labor express
A sore loser

Paul Ryan?

Except that Glenn Beck and Mark Levine haven’t been ruled out yet ...

Don’t want to dump on all Mormons. We need to get Mike Lee, Mia Love, etc on board. Savage Mitt individually, who is a useless jerk

The Cheap Labor Express is running out of options.
They failed to get the amnesty candidate they paid for, for the first time since the last amnesty.

My guess is Bill Kristol’s got nothing.

I expect the #NeverTrump/never-ending illegal alien inundation crowd will eventually come out for Hillary.

“...still no sign of Bill Kristol’s credible independent...”

The words “credible” and “Bill Kristol” never belong in the same sentence.

Kristol is permanently butt hurt. Put some Preparation H on your nose, Kristol, before you go sticking your head up there again, try to take care of those things.

” ... Mitt Romney, have not yet confirmed one way or the other whether they are going to run.”

Mitt has been playing this card almost from the beginning. He thinks people like him. He doesn’t realize most of his votes, including mine, were votes against Obama.

If he enters, he will go down as the clown that elected Hillary.

“Mitt’s sour grapes for Trump’s success is palpable.”

Indeed. Jealously of Trump’s success in light of Romney’s own pathetic failures is the sole driving force of his anti-Trumpism; Mitt fervently believes, “I coulda been a contenda”.

Trump - “He’s a Choke Artist, once a Choke Artist always a Choke Artist”

Beta boy had his shot, twice.

Then this POS Romney goes into this drug addled tirade (cut down to it’s essence):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xd3kr-QpeM

[snip]

If we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished.

[snip]

If Donald Trump’s plans were ever implemented, the country would sink into prolonged recession.

[snip]

His tax plan in combination with his refusal to reform entitlements and honestly address spending would balloon the deficit and the national debt.

[snip]

But you say, wait, wait, wait, isn’t he a huge business success? Doesn’t he know what he’s talking about? No, he isn’t and no he doesn’t.

[snip]

Frankly, the only serious policy proposals that deal with a broad range of national challenges we confront today come from Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and John Kasich. One of these men should be our nominee.

[snip]

Mr. Trump’s bombast is already alarming the allies and fueling the enmity of our enemies.

[snip]

I’m afraid that when it comes to foreign policy he is very, very not smart.

[snip]

Now, I’m far from the first to conclude that Donald Trump lacks the temperament to be president.

[snip]

There is a dark irony in his boasts of his sexual exploits during the Vietnam War.

Dishonesty is Donald Trump’s hallmark.

[snip]

He’s not of the temperament of the kind of stable, thoughtful person we need as a leader.

[snip]

Think of Donald Trump’s personal qualities. The bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third grade theatrics.

[snip]

There are a number of people who claim that Mr. Trump is a con man, a fake — thank you.

Let me say that again. There’s plenty of evidence that Mr. Trump is a con man, a fake.

[snip]

If I’m right, you’ll have all the proof you need to know that Donald Trump is indeed a phony.

[snip]

Mr. Trump is directing our anger for less than noble purposes.

[snip]

Here’s what I know. Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University.

[snip]

He’s playing the members of the American public for suckers. He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat.

[snip]

His domestic policies would lead to recession. His foreign policies would make America and the world less safe. He has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president and his personal qualities would mean that America would cease to be a shining city on a hill.

//There are some fears that it will indeed be Romney.//

Which would make sense given the name floating around of “Latter-Day Republicans” which brings to mind (to those familiar with the Mormons) the idea of a “restoration” of ‘conservatism’, the ‘one true party’, and the Mormon White Horse Prophecy (which Mitt thinks he is the fulfillment of) that a Mormon priesthood holder would come in and ‘save the Constitution when it is hanging by a thread’.

//I’d be surprised if it is Romney because the blow back on the LDS Church would be immense. They’ve got a lot of exposed flanks so to speak./

They do but right now their focus is on keeping the rank and file rather than adding to their ranks (growth has actually declined greatly the last 10 years according to a few people I know in the Church office building). Talking up the White Horse prophecy (even unofficially) will do a lot to keep people in the cult mindset.
