Tinnitus?

1. I didn't know there was a treatment for tinnitus.
2. Those must have been some loud guns, or...
3. ... or they were fired at really, really close range ...
4. ... yet no one was injured.

The Rolex was probably fake, anyway. LOL

Bet this cop is on the drug squad and the Rolex is quite real and out of his price range.

Just firing any kind of handgun at arms length without hearing protection, even a .22, is very loud and will make your ears ring for days.

I know Brooklyn has changed a lot since my Brooklyn days (mid-70s), but Grove and Wyckoff is no place to be with a Rolex at 3:48 in the afternoon, never mind 3:48 AM.

Nah. A .22 is a loud pop and no more. Even a .25. Get up to a .40 and you sure want to use ear protection (in an enclosed environment). In the open? It’s not so bad (but ear protection is recommended).

When I go shooting (my .40), I use ear plugs plus over the ear protection. Can’t hear next to nothin (which is a good thing).

If not I want to know how he afforded that. Perhaps he is a real life Burke's Law played by Gene Barry.

Ummm by observing some local cops who have been on the drug squad. Pretty nice homes and boats and Harley’s for guys who don’t make all that much money.

Back in the day when I’d get good and baked,
the tinnitus was like a pipe organ playing
behind my head, or a turned-up collar full of needles.

I never had a problem when outdoors. Indoors? I would never fire a gun without good hearing protection. . . unless it was a matter of life or limb of course.

Well, that may be your experience, but have you ever fired a .22 Long Rifle in a Derringer or Ruger Bearcat revolver? Way beyond a pop. I have fired dozens of different types of handguns over the last 50 years from .22s all the way up to .44 mags, and they are all LOUD! The .357 being almost deafening in my experience.

One night I heard a mosquito and smashed it. The sound stayed with me all night.
