While Sinise is fondly remembered as veteran Lt. Dan Taylor in the 1994 film classic "Forrest Gump," it's the actor's tireless work on behalf of the armed forces that continues to earn him so much praise.
"There's only one Gary Sinise. He's in a class all by himself," says Brandon Millett, co-founder of the festival, adding that the actor and rocker is definitely the "Bob Hope of this generation. That's what a lot of folks have called him. And it's so completely authentic."

Luv Mr. Sinise. Heading to DC today for the dress rehearsal for the Memorial Day concert. Looking forward to seeing Gary.
Good for you. Be careful though since d.c. is a gun free zone. If you know what I mean.
Thanks for the link. I tweeted it.
Well, thank you for that. Hope the ‘tweeted’ enjoy.
Bump.
All that read this please giving to Gary’s Foundation. It is well run and efficient in helping those who truly need it. In March he was at Ft Irwin and gave a two hour concert where I saw him. His late brother-in-law was inducted into Ft Leavenworth Hall of Fame this year.

That movie was 22 years ago? I’m old, seems like it was just a couple years ago to me.
Time flies when we’re havin’ fun huh?
He’s a mensch and an excellent actor.
Me too. :)
He played a very bad dude in “Ransom”.
I saw the Lt Dan band recently (Ft Sill) and don’t remember any Springsteen songs. They did have an amazing range of songs - The Devil Went Down to Georgia, Uptown Funk, We Won’t Get Fooled Again, The Conga, September, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy (Andrews Sisters)... It was a spectacular show.
Nice.
