A De-Sexed Society is a De-Humanized Society
The Public Discourse ^ | 5/25/16 | Stella Morabito

....Obama’s transgender directive isn’t about civil rights or bathroom use. It’s about state control over personal relationships.

As usual, tyranny comes disguised as “civil rights.”

The transgender movement has never been about “gender.” It’s all about sex. Sex is the real target. “Gender” is merely the politicized linguistic vehicle...

It will serve to outlaw speech that identifies males as males and females as females...

...All such denials of reality require heavy-handed censorship. We have already seen the governors of South Dakota and Georgia fold....

...Every single cell of you has either “male” or “female” written into its DNA, but the law refuses to recognize such categories....

And what happens to your familial relationships after the law has de-sexed you? Are they legally recognized? I don’t see how they could be....

In such a scenario, the state controls all personal relationships...the “family” would be whatever the state allows it to be....

Martha Fineman, a gender legal theorist, touched on this in her 2004 book The Autonomy Myth. In it, she argues for the abolition of state-recognized marriage because it allows for family privacy...

Gender ideology is an effective statist tool. Cultural Marxists use it to corrupt language and sow confusion, especially among children....

The only way out is to affirm reality. We must reclaim our full humanity. Let’s start by reinjecting our language with one very good word that points to reality: sex. Yes, let’s revive the word “sex,” and use it generously whenever referring to the biological reality of our physical nature. (And spiritual nature too.) At the same time, let’s refuse—always—to use the word “gender” when we mean sex. It’s a poisoned and weaponized word that has been used to legally de-sex and thus dehumanize us all....

Liberals want us all dehumanized. They want humans to act like barnyard animals.

Today people are behaving worse than barnyard animals.

For much the same reason that you cannot use the word "intercourse" to mean conversation, you cannot use the word "sex" to denote biological gender. Perhaps there was a time when these words could be used innocently, but no longer. Both words have taken on connotations of a specific class of physical activity that is impossible to segregate from any other meanings of the words. It is for that reason that the attempt to get people to use the word "sex" instead of "gender" will fail.

I know that I am personally extremely uncomfortable with speaking of the sex of a young child; I hear such language as verging on pedophilia. No child is too young to have a biological gender, but every child is too young for sex.

The use of "gender" to refer to a biological state has always been correct. The root of the word is in Latin, from the word meaning "type or kind." It is the same root as the word "genus" (plural: genera) used in scientific nomenclature to classify living organisms. The use of the word "gender" to refer to some fluid, ill-defined, and non-sensical social construct is a fairly new invention, and comes from the social "sciences" (which are anything but science). Rather than complaining that people use the word "gender" to refer to biological reality, we should refuse to acknowledge the use of the word "gender" to mean an imaginary social construct, i.e. outright mental illness.

Very good article, and the dehumanizing aspect is a very important thing to take note of. I think that that explains the double standard of the Lena Dunhams of the world who think nothing of talking about their private parts or even exposing them publicly, but if (hoping I’m not being kinky or strange by mentioning this) women’s hosiery commercials from Leggs or Hanes were to be brought back on TV like they were in the 1970s and 1980s, these people would be the first to denounce such ads as sexist.

I agree with you. Another example is the ever-greater exposure of bodies in public (see Michelle Malkin’s article yesterday), along with strange revulsion toward nursing babies, even when there’s nothing to be seen (as it were).

The use of "gender" to refer to a biological state has always been correct.

I disagree. The correct biological term is sex. If you have two "X" chromosomes, you are biologically defined as female. If you are "XY" you are biologically defined as male even in lower animals. Humans are the only species for which this term is used in place of sex. Gender comes from languages like French that use a different pronoun for males and female and did not come into its current usage until the 70's, thanks to the feminist movement. I know this to be the case because I took many years of French in school, I have a Masters degree in Biology, and I am 66 years old and was very much alive when this change took place!

When does the realization come to Liberals that their “Women’s Rights” movement is over and that they can no longer claim that persons with a vagina are discriminated against if they get their way on these matters? It’s always been a political chip that they love to play. I suppose they can claim to be women when it suits their agenda and change their mind when it leans the other way. What a world! If the obvious can be refuted by a simple mental choice, then I think it would be in my best interest to “perceive” myself as a young, single mother with a dozen children, no idea who my children’s fathers are and no job. I’d be sitting on easy street nowadays. Of course, I would have to claim that my pet rocks are children but since we’re into “perceptions” that should work just fine.

It’s about state control over personal relationships.

It goes beyond that. It's about state control over reality itself. The Left believes that by passing a law saying women are men and men are women women become men and men become women.

Are we going to let a bureaucrat decide what is real, what is truth for us?

humans do not have genders. In fact, living beings do not have genders. Parts of speech have genders, and inanimate objects have genders. Living things have sexes.

This is how it has always been no matter what the liberals try to tell you.

And referring to a child’s sex has nothing whatsoever to do with any activity. Like it or not a child has a sex (either male or female).

“As usual, tyranny comes disguised as “civil rights.””

Good point and it applies to all the ‘civil rights’ tyranny forced on the American people since 1965.
