Unfortunately Santorum was a reliable vote for every big government program there ever was.
Maybe so but toomey was for gays in the military, transpacific trade deal, and many liberal bills.
I’d bet anything that if Santorum were still in need of campaign dollars to hold onto a Senate seat, he’d be in favor of TPP too. I recall Ron Paul cornering him on some of his big government votes, and Santorum sheepishly admitted that he did what he had to to play the game.
I really don’t have a lot of confidence in any Republican who was in office during the horrific spending sprees of 2002-2006 in particular. That was the best opportunity in a generation to finally get the nation’s fiscal house in order, with a unified GOP control of House, Senate, and Presidency. And they blew it in the most egregious way possible, leading directly to Speaker Pelosi, then President Obama, then the unified Democrat government which held together just long enough to pass Obamacare.
I hold Santorum responsible for his go-along-to-get-along actions to keep the pork barrel rolling.
you can do a search on “Santorum big government” if you want all the gory details, by the way
where the rubber met the road, he was just another pig at the trough
There's another video way back where he testifies before Congress on the economy. They were that he would take the time to give them his view.
Precisely. Go take up residence in your natural home, Ricky. Register as a Democrat today!
Nope; the evidence is right there in his own words (post #68). Santorum is a Big Government politician, who if he had an ounce of integrity would be honest enough to declare himself a Democrat.
He’s pro-high-taxes and pro-regulation (see the quote in message 68). Go away, Rick, and make an honest man of yourself by registering as a Democrat.
“”The most important issue is preserving the Constitution of this country and a liberal Supreme Court will destroy it,” Santorum said. “
Excellent point. Others should focus on the important things as well.
The biggest spending was Iraq! Ugh. What a complete waste of money. I agree with you.
Mr rogers, and some Mr rogers types, encourage credulity, which is a disadvantage if you have a**h8les to deal with.
I’m more thinking life insurance. Someone who ticks “them” off more than Trump.
Well, I guess Santorum has real negatives too. I haven’t read anything about his being considered for VP. I guess he couldn’t even help with PA.
