I noticed yesterday at the Egyptian spokesman presser on the downed airline, there was not ONE microphone from the ABC’s. Not one.

The story doesn't fit their agenda, I guess.

They assume it's a senseless act of Islamic terrorism. They can't figure out how to credibly blame the Republicans or the Israelis for it.

It'll only encourage anti-immigration forces to renew calls for a Muslim ban.

It only highlights the fact that the ME is a continuing threat. ISIS and the forces of Muslim extremism continue undiminished, despite the best efforts of Obama, Kerry and Clinton.

Reporting on it only hurts the cause, so why send anyone?

No, I disagree. These networks are failing and can no longer afford to send people to countries like Egypt for long periods. Also, America has always had poor international tv coverage unless we are directly engaged in a hot war.
