With just days until his high school graduation, a Minnesota student was suspended Monday for displaying a Confederate flag on school grounds, and his participation in Fridays commencement ceremony was questioned.
But after an early-morning protest Tuesday in his support and a meeting between the family and school officials, senior Cody Nelson was back in class and will graduate with his classmates Friday night.
Nelson was sent home Monday morning from Crosby-Ironton High School after he refused to remove the flag from the back window of his car that was parked on school grounds. Principal Jim Christenson had asked him to remove the flag, which was considered in violation of district policy that prohibits the display of objectionable emblems, badges, symbols, signs, words, objects or pictures communicating a message that is racist, sexist or otherwise derogatory.

Had he displayed the “X” of the Nation of Islam’s Malcolm “X”, would he get the same treatment?....................
If these objects indeed do exist, the policy, regulation and law should be able to succinctly codify which are the offending objects.
Yet a racist “black power fists in the air” school photo by a dozen female and black West Point Cadets gets a yawn...
Was this in Southern Minn.?
Nah, there are plenty of nice-looking, intelligent, creative people who like the flag and enjoy studying the History behind it.
The sad truth is, political correctness today is extremely biased, prejudiced, and bigoted - it has become all those things it is supposed to stand opposed to.

I’ve gotta feeling those cadets ditched their careers...
Having grown up in Minnesota, I left as soon as I could and haven’t looked back except to visit family and friends every few years (and only during the summer). Minnesotan’s have always been pretty left in their politics, especially the Democratic Farm Labor (DFL) party. My late dad was a union man and a dyed-in-the-wool DFL-er, However, they were alway’s tolerant of others’ views and generally “Minnesota Nice.” I guess today’s leftist vermin have taken root and become intolerant there as well as everywhere else they manage to infest. Sorry to see it.
= HATEFULNESS
= LIBERATION
It all depends on who's CiC.
About a month ago on a rare warm day (coldest spring in memory) I was on my Harley riding out in the country north of Richmond, VA and was behind a school bus unloading HS students.
Somewhat shocked, I watched a girl get off the bus with a huge Confederate flag covering her backpack/bookbag. The shock? She was black.
Wonder what Minnesota would have done to her............
Whoa!!! They are getting personal and getting this ol’ octogenarian riled. Let’s hear a rousing round of Dixie out of the South.
