Trump: I'm just a person 'fighting for survival'
Politico ^ | 05/16/16 | Nick Gass

For all his political and business cachet, Donald Trump does not see himself as powerful.

“Well, I don’t view myself as that," the presumptive Republican nominee told Megyn Kelly in an interview set to air Tuesday night on Fox broadcasting's "Megyn Kelly Presents."

To hear Trump tell it to Kelly, with whom he sat down earlier this month at Trump Tower after the Fox News journalist reached out to him, the billionaire businessman is an everyman.

"I mean, I view myself as a person that – like everybody else – is fighting for survival. I, that’s all I view myself as," he said, according to a released excerpt. "And I really view myself now as somewhat of a messenger… You know, this is, um… This is a massive thing that’s going on. These are millions and millions of people that have been disenfranchised from this country.”

It’s the eye of the tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Risin’ up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And he’s watching us all with the
Eye of the tiger

No other reason for Trump to subject himself to all of this stress.

Think of what that means when he applies that same attitude on the issues that affect the people he will soon represent? He is the peoples’ gladiator, fighting for our survival in a corrupt, run down economy that has lost all respect in the world.

Yep. He was targeted for destruction because he said illegal immigration should be stopped.

Think about that.

Amen! And on our threads I’ve called him the everyman’s billionaire many times. It’s an almost impossible feat to attain, yet it comes through in every speech he has given and in every rally I’ve seen him speak at. I honest to goodness believe that if he drank, you could sit down, have a beer with him, shoot the breeze on equal terms and come away feeling like you’ve made a friend, and you would have!

Does anyone know where we can watch Fox Broadcasting? Dish Network doesn’t even carry it. Thanks.

His son Donald calls him the “Blue collar billionaire.” Fits him perfect.

Comcast has it (and they are cheaper if you get your internet through them too).

This will be a FOX special on their parent network. Not Fox News.

“It can happen when you’re 45,” said Kelly, who turned 45 last November.

Trump, again, counter-punched.

I get the same impression from him. I’ve never heard a candidate before that really understands what the people are going through. He’s talked about interest rates being so low eats away people’s savings so they put money into the stock market, which is due for a big correction. He spoke of the large Obamacare premiums, coupled with $6000 deductibles, making health care unaffordable.

These details make me think he really cares more about people’s situations than most politicians. And it’s even more remarkable since he’s not subjected to those problems himself. You’d think someone with as much money as he has wouldn’t understand the fine details of our problems at all.

He understands because he's a businessman and he needs to understand this stuff, unlike career pols.

No other reason for Trump to subject himself to all of this stress.

Anyone who says Trump has some ulterior motive such as $ or lust for power - they really are blind. It is bringing him nothing but trouble, danger, and expense. And when he's in the WH, even more trouble and danger.
