Recep Tayyip Erdogan has a great passion for mosques.
Since he took power in Turkey, Mr. Erdogan has built 17,000 Islamic prayer sites. The largest in the world stands on the Camlica Hill, dominating the Asian side of Istanbul, where the East, in the words of Cocteau, extends to Europe “its old bejeweled hand”.
The Turkish president is committed to the construction of mosques in European capitals as well. Erdogan seeks to create the image of an Islamic civilization on the rise once again with the Turks acting as the vanguard of this revival. So many in the USA want other people to “take out” the enemies of freedom, without thinking that those other people have goals of their own that do not align with those in the USA who value freedom.
He built a big center in Maryland and wants to build one in Cuba.

All those mosques....While we in the west shut our Churches down or convert them to casinos, bars, or worse.
In the meantime good luck to building a church in Turkey. It took 100 years for some Syriac Christians to finally get a church built. Wow at this pace Christianity will be cleansed from Turkey completely before the next one is built.
