Ted Cruz Coalition Want Bathroom Laws In Republican Party Platform…
Conservative Treehouse ^ | May 9, 2016 | Sundance

Posted on 05/09/2016 2:06:48 PM PDT by COUNTrecount

This story is an example why the republican party consistently loses against the progressive left. In response to the ridiculous, albeit recent, NC bathroom laws (which the MSM are having fun bashing conservatives on the head with) the Ted Cruz constituency wants to write bathroom laws into the 2016 republican party platform.

Yes, yes, unfortunately that’s the modern right-wing cultural GOPe. Look over there, shiny thing, shiny thing… quick, go chase it….. quick make a law to control it…. bathrooms, gays, transgenders… oh noes, the humanity !

WASHINGTON DC – After he lost the Republican nomination, Sen. Ted Cruz’s backers will now reportedly pivot towards trying to gain control of the GOP’s platform during the national convention.

According to The New York Times, top Cruz aide Ken Cuccinelli wrote in an email to supporters urging them to come to Cleveland in July to “protect against liberal changes to our platform.” Cuccinelli confirmed the effort to the Times, telling them that Cruz’s backers seek to protect “movement conservatism,” including a firming of the party’s core positions on abortion and the addition of language regarding transgender bathroom use.

“We want to have girls go in girls’ bathrooms,” he said, alluding to how presumptive nominee Donald Trump has taken a more liberal position than Cruz on which bathrooms transgender individuals can use. (read more)

Bathroom monitors? Really? That’s what the Ted Cruz wing of the republican party is worried about… being the bathroom police?

Personally, I’ve come to the conclusion the GOPe actually meets behind mahogany doors and picks out things -intentionally- to make issues out of and give the republican party the public appearance of insane nuttery. I’ve come to believe they do this on purpose as party of the entire construct of the UniParty…. there can be no other reasonable explanation.

It’s ridiculous because you can’t enforce it!

The point is that Ted Cruz trying to call attention to this issue

This isn't your first election cycle, is it?

This is where all the big players in the party bargain for position and influence, using their supporters' voices as credibility. It's an opportunity for the standard-bearer to see which of their issues he'll have to adopt to get their people's enthusiastic support. It's in everyone's interest.

It's ironic that many of Trump's backers get offended by bargaining. As in The Art of the Deal.

Just because we are against something doesn't meant it should be part of the GOP platform.

We can make adultery and fornication part of the platform as well.

Glad to hear that. On this particular issue, Cruz is on the side of those fighting against government forcing schools, churches, and businesses to allow boys to use girls' showers, locker rooms, and restrooms. And for those who say it is all overblown, the Federal Department of Education has already forced schools to let boys play on girls' athletic teams and use their showers, prompting a lawsuit as described in the link in another comment I posted. From that story:
The ACLU of Illinois was especially offended that Alliance Defending Freedom referred to the transgender student as “he” in the lawsuit.

“It’s pretty offensive that they don’t even fundamentally acknowledge that our client is a girl,” ACLU spokesman Ed Yohnka told the Tribune. “If you don’t understand enough about what it means to be transgender to get that, I don’t know how you even begin to opine on this.”

The ACLU even got its panties all twisted because the plaintiffs in the lawsuit have the audacity to refer to the gender-confused boy as "he".

Teddy is one of THE most irrelevant poerson, on the face of the earth about now!

The Trump supporters on FR are far MORE relevant, in the scheme of things!

Why doesn’t Harvard Law School-indoctrinated Cruz point out that PC transgender restroom issues are up to the states, ultimately a states legal majority voters, to decide? The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to address such an issue.

And Ted wants to inspect everybodys genitals before they can go tinkle.

This from someone who posts photos of drunken girls peeing on themselves

So, you support exposing little boys to homosexual crossdressers who like boys and little girls to lesbian bulldykes who like girls? I see.

Thanks for playing the liberals “gotcha” game for them. You are giving them exactly what they want by dividing conservatives with hyperbole.

But just WHAT in the job description of the presidency, does this cover?

Just as presidents can't really do much about legal abortions, what can a president do about this bathroom stuff ?

No, because we understand that these are local issues not Federal ones.

Get in the game. The FEDERAL Department of Education, Department of Labor, and Department of Justice are ramrodding this radical re-engineering of all things sexual. It is legal fraud, though the odds of our politicized judicial system slapping it down are not good. How can you claim it's all a local issue when Obama is driving it?

I agree that it SHOULD be a local government decision and, with regard to businesses and private institutions of all kinds, a private decision. But that door has shut.

An excellent idea! At long last the GOP would stand for something, instead of ignoring and abandoning the moral foundation of this great country.

Trump understands it; it is that YOU don't know what Trump said about this.

Nor do you know what a president can and can NOT do about such things. This is a STATE matter and trump said so !

The policy changes are being driven by the FEDERAL Departments of Education, Labor, and Justice. I would be happy to leave it to the states and to the private choices of businesses and private institutions. But the sexual radicals are implementing a coup, and it is driven primarily at the federal level. It has to be resisted at the federal level.

It's clear Trump doesn't understand this. Perhaps some of his cheerleaders should try to clue him in.

Because the Federal Government is overreaching it's power doesn't mean it isn't a local issue!

They can't do anything to stop enforcement of local laws against lewd behavior.

So, the door hasn't been shut, because it isn't a Federal issue just because the Liberals are making it so, they want to make everything a Federal issue!

And Conservatives who attempt to make it a Federal issue are falling right into their trap!

Read Trump’s defense speech and you’ll find the answer we need.

Trump says he will: defend Western culture, values, and institutions.

Trump understands that to solve a problem, you have to go after the root of the problem. So many of the social problems we complain about (from abortion to bathrooms) are symptoms of a deeper problem: we have abandoned Wester culture and values.

I was pleased to no end to hear Trump make that statement, because it means he gets it. He gets what the real problem is with out country.
