No, because we understand that these are local issues not Federal ones.

Get in the game. The FEDERAL Department of Education, Department of Labor, and Department of Justice are ramrodding this radical re-engineering of all things sexual. It is legal fraud, though the odds of our politicized judicial system slapping it down are not good. How can you claim it's all a local issue when Obama is driving it?

Exactly. The train has left the station. This utterly corrupt administration is FORCING its radical agenda upon the American people. Will we rise up and stop it?

Trump understands it; it is that YOU don't know what Trump said about this.

Has Trump said that he will reverse the Department of Education and Department of Labor rules that are the point of the spear?

Yes, lets make it the moral Party instead of a political Party.

A conservative political Party is to stand for freedom, not attempting to regulate moral behavior.

That is a theocracy.

Important to think strategically 6 months before an election. Get the White House, get an AG with a brain and an ounce of honesty, and this issue disappears as a federal issue. (The feds are trying to change the definition of “gender” in Title IX to include transvestites, a faulty legal position.) With a republican president, the federal lawsuit against NC will be immediately dismissed by the new AG. Then it will be fought out state by state, but at least the feds will be out of it unless they get the Supreme Court majority.

It only makes sense to address this NOW as a PLATFORM matter is if it helps win the White House (and thus also the Supreme Court majority), Some republicans, of course, seem uninterested in winning the White House, preferring to see HRC in there rather than Trump, a position I feel to be profoundly wrong.

I’m sure most here (and I) agree with the goal of the NC law. The only question is how to BEST go about winning the issue in the long run.
Rushing in headlong now may not be the best approach. Don’t be naive enough to think the timing of the local ordinance that prompted the NC response was accidental. Clearly planned to inject this “issue” into the presidential election. The left plans carefully when and how to attack. Opponents of the left must also plan carefully how and when to counterattack. Remember: The “Defense of Marriage” act was hot, and what did it accomplish? We now have gay marriage, my friends. The battle is for control of the White House, and thence the Supreme Court. Keep the prize in mind.

"The policy changes are being driven by the FEDERAL Departments of Education, Labor, and Justice."

The states have never amended the Constitution to expressly give the unconstitutionally big federal government the specific powers to address INTRAstate education or labor issues.

Yes, and that’s why the platform should say that the republican party supports balancing one-sided laws such as those implemented by Charlotte. It is similar to sanctuary city laws. States should confront local laws that threaten the privacy and/or security of their citizens, and they’ll receive the backing of the republican party when they do.

The party platform covers more than just the presidency. See #66

You've NEVER listened to anything Trump has actually said; have you! He has already taken on the Dept. of Ed and is going to not only shrink it, but slap it down!

You need to stop posting imagined/made-up anti-Trump crap.

How about that we don’t need to violate the Tenth Amendment to address a situation that could not have existed in the founding times even if people WERE that libertine.

Is there some way to do this without using Uncle Sam as a nanny?

Thanks for playing the liberals “gotcha” game for them. You are giving them exactly what they want by dividing conservatives with hyperbole.

Hyperbole? Earth to digger48: the radical gaystopo agenda is determined to impose it's perverted rejection of fundamental God-ordained understanding of marriage, family, and even male and female, the basic building block of human civilization. And you dismiss this gargantuan threat to our society as "hyperbole"?

You, who posts photos of drunken girls peeing themselves, are a Fifth Column on FR. Beware!

And sometimes a reverse-theocracy can take advantage of such a posture. OK, say Baal is behind the bathroom madness. Uncle Sam shouldn’t be able to boost Baal there, which is always a possibility if he can ban Baal there. The power to regulate in one direction becomes the power to regulate in the other direction.

The GOP needs to stay out of this idiotic subject on the Federal level.

There are already laws in every state against lewd behavior, all they have to is be enforced.

We have undercover police that go after homosexual acts in bathrooms, (remember Sen. Livingston's wide stance) so they can go into bathrooms to prevent lewd acts by transgender's as well.

Why is the first reaction to the Left's depravity, by the Right, to make another law!

Transgender bathroom use was not even a big problem until some do-good Libs made it into one, and the ‘right’ took the bait.

According to the NYTimes, there are only some 700,000 people who identify as transgendered in the US. That is between 0.2% [0.002] and 0.3% [0.003] of the population.

The furor is out of proportion.

Shiny distraction, indeed.

This is going to end up costing general businesses, stores, etc., $billions to install additional bathroom facilities and modify existing facilities to accommodate a small percentage of the population. Most of those transgender facilities would never be used because of the small number of transgenders.

Sure. The same way the party platform covers pro-life.

It says in so many words that the republican party supports life.

The platform can say it supports the privacy and security of any citizen while they are using facilities designated for public use whether offered by authorities or businesses.

Something like that. Platforms support general principles.

A conservative political Party is to stand for freedom, not attempting to regulate moral behavior.

Wrong! You have just defined the libertarian party. Standing for moral issues has always been the backbone of the GOP, beginning with its original anti-slavery platform.

I have supported secure and private facilities long before Ted Cruz ever brought it up.

To me your reply is a non-answer. It’s playing the enemy’s game to get into side issues that will blunt ability of our candidate to get elected. The Left is manipulating us and the unwary are rising to the bait.

No one abhors the abuses of the LGBT lobby more than I but I would prefer to address the rights of all Americans, including heterosexual white males, from a position of strength after the election. Do we want to alienate some of the Americans who are engaged because of the economic, military and immigrant issues, lose the election and then congratulate ourselves that we tried to defend women & the family instead of keeping our eyes on the war not the battle?

I agree with Senator Cruz on this. I hope Ted Cruz holds to this, and that Mr. Trump changes his mind about it!
