According to Saturday’s report by German news outlet RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland, von der Leyen wants to abolish the Bundeswehr’s current upper personnel limit of 170,000 short-service and professional soldiers plus 15,000 volunteers.
The report said she is planning to increase the number of positions in the German army by 7,000 on the principle of a “breathing personnel structure” that would allow more flexibility in the face of new threats and deployments.
Her new concept also envisages an increase in the number of professional soldiers in comparison with those who serve with the Bundeswehr on a short-term basis, according to the report. …

It seems that a very old ‘notion’ that I have held onto since the Day of The Destruction of The Berlin Wall, that in time Germany will find herself going through a gut-wrenching healing and a self-examination leading to a renewed and strengthened national and bloodline identity.

Cant say i disagree with the Germans on that, this is an outdated law and there is no threat of Germany returning to another Reich

“We” don’t. Let them. “We” need to concentrate on the defending the United States. The United States is in the same boat as Germany. Both the Republican Party and the Democrat Party and their leadership are hell bent on, for reasons of their own, destroying the United States of America. And ,with their fifth column on Free Republic, they are succeeding.
There is no threat of the Germany we knew returning to another Reich but the new Germany might just turn into a caliphate if Merkel can finish poisoning the populace before she is strung up. Then you get a caliphate army with the traditional fighting skills of the Germans.

Is this a typo? Wikipedia says the limit is 370,000.

170k is a later, self-imposed limit to cut costs.
Not only a Muslim German Army, but a Muslim British Navy.
