A pediatrician who spent three years as a resident at Coney Island Hospital spoke to The Posts Melkorka Licea about the frightening patient care the doctor witnessed and heard about in the 371-bed Brooklyn facility. Fearing more children will be put in harms way, the physician wanted to shed light on the chronic negligence, unqualified care and poor supervision that plagues the city-run institution.

If I ever get hit by a car, I really hope the ambulance doesn't bring me here.

The staff were just confused. They thought they got hired on to an amusement park.

I wake up thankful every day that I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. The medical care here is simply the best in the world. Stanford Hospital is #1 and UCSF is #3 in the state. My wife has had both open heard and spinal fusion surgery at Stanford and I cannot imagine how they could provide better, more comprehensive care for both the patient and the immediate family.
Now, I expect to see some moronic post about gays or some other nonsensical posting because it’s San Francisco.

A recent Consumer Reports article stated that there are over 400,000 medical mistake deaths every year. And Obama wants more gun control? How about doctor control? After you eliminate suicides and criminal on criminal gun deaths, it would take decades for gun deaths to equal one year of doctor deaths. Talk about misguided priorities. For anti-gun nuts it isn't about saving lives, it's about making us all helpless.

Actually, you’re quite right. I worked for a man one of whose best friends was the Chief Resident in the ER of SF General. The stories he told would fill a book. Might want to read up on the guy who died on the piano at Carol Doda’s Northbeach club. Cause of death was “suffocation.” I could tell you more, but the Mods would scratch the post.

I guess that having to care for gays and the consequences keeps them at the top of their game. Dark cloud, silver lining.
