Victimhood is profitable. On the internet, it can get you thousands of dollars in crowdfunding donations. In the media, it can win you national prominence and a cooing audience of credulous sycophants. On campus, it can get you attention and plaudits from fellow grievance-mongers.

Convince enough people you’re a victim, and everyone from presidential candidates to celebrities will come rushing to support you.

So it’s little wonder that charlatans and opportunists regularly seek to take advantage of our species’ natural instinct for empathy. False flags, in which people deliberately stage attacks on themselves to win the support of society, are as old as history itself.

Breitbart site very buggy though. I try to avoid linking to them because of that. Shame because they have some good articles.

There Have Been Over 100 Hate Crime Hoaxes In The Past Decade

This has been going on for a long time. The guy who published this book on hate crime hoaxes in 1994 says that he had documented over 300 cases.

There seems to be some similarity with Munchausen Syndrome. In both cases someone is claiming injury to get attention.

I’m betting that there have been at least 1,000 in the last 10 years, these are just the ones that became public knowledge. I know that here in MN there has been an almost steady stream of “hate-crime” allegations which turn out to be total lies stretching back about 20 years.

An even more telling number would be the percentage of hate crime cases reported in the media that turn out to be hoaxes. I've been keeping an eye on these over the past 3 years informally after noticing it seemed like all of them were ... we really are shooting about 100% on these ... you can almost count on anything in the media coming out 2 months later on page 134 that a member of the so called victim group did it, and of course their excuse is they felt they needed to draw attention to the hate - it's totally circular reasoning and fabricated.

Aw, I was hoping to see the girl who punched herself in the eye claiming it to be an attack from a Trump supporter. I suppose that happened such a short time ago that no one has had time to really debunk it yet.

As a rule, whenever there is a supposed hate crime against a liberal, the liberal should be the prime suspect. I’ve known this for decades.
