This isnt your normal campaign website. Conventional wisdom says that you should never mention your opponents name. But then, this isnt a conventional campaign.
So, why would I buck all standard advice and include a page on my campaign website to talk so directly about Paul Ryans betrayal of us? For the same reason Ive chosen to buck the establishment by running for this congressional seat in the first place. The status quoconventionisnt working for us in Washington, D.C. And its not going to work in this campaign.
My opponent needs to be called outby name.
Paul Ryan Betrayed Me
I was arguably Paul Ryans biggest supporter in Wisconsins 1st Congressional District. I pounded signs for him, made phone calls, and worked to get people out to vote for what Ryan said was his prioritygetting Americans, and specifically people from our district, working again.
In a district that has deep roots in manufacturing and industry, what could be more important?
But what Paul Ryan claimed he wanted to accomplish and what hes actually doing? The fact is, they simply dont match up. Paul Ryan Has Betrayed Wisconsins 1st District
Like many people in this district, Ive had the opportunity to meet Paul Ryan personally. Hes shaken my hand. Hes looked me in the eye. Hes made promises to me and many others about policies he would and would not support on behalf of this district. Weve all watched as hes broken every single one of those promises.
Im a manufacturing guy and an inventor. I started my working life right on the factory floor and worked my way up to run manufacturing companies. Thats part of what I love about Wisconsins 1st District and one of the chief reasons whyof all the places I could have chosen to settleI chose to be here. The southeast corner of Wisconsin has deep roots in manufacturing and industry.
So, when Paul Ryan began pushing a massive, job-killing international trade deal known as the Trade Promotion Authority and Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPA/TPP), it was the final straw for me. I know what TPA/TPP will do to this district. It sells out American workers. It sells out American business and industry. It will kill the economy in this district, never mind the rest of the nation.
Why would Paul Ryan do such a thing?
I asked myself that question again and again, trying to understand. I couldnt believe he would be so reckless. I couldnt believe he would sell out his own district in that way.
And then I started looking at public records and it all began to make sense.
Approximately 83 percent of Paul Ryans campaign funding comes from outside of Wisconsins 1st District. And of that 83 percent, 65 percent of his funding comes straight from Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia.
Paul Ryan isnt representing our district. Hes representing the big businesses and big banks that pour money into his campaign coffers. Its their agendas hes carrying forward with his votes in Congress not ours.
Paul Ryan Has Betrayed This Country and Its Citizens
TPA/TPP is just the beginning of Paul Ryans betrayal. Hes supported numerous policies and measures that are already doing profound damage to this nations economy, to our security as citizens, and to our personal freedoms.
Like so many other establishment politicians before him, Hes embraced out-of-control spending via Omnibus spending bills. Hes used budgets to fund dangerous immigration policies that put American lives at risk. Hes voted for bills that compromise our constitutional and civil liberties.
And the list goes on.
How much should we take?
How long should we take it?
Ive had it.
I hope you have, too.
And I hope youll join me in what I believe can be a very powerful movement to push back against the Washington machine by challenging and removing the guy who now pulls many of its levers.
Paul Ryan has betrayed us all.
Together, lets put a stop to it.
Now.
Nehlen barred from WI GOP Convention in April.
Oh brother!
Eliminate pensions, reduce benefits and pay them $1 per year. That’s a start.
Just donated, from Arizona.
The guy is smart, asking for as little as $10.
That I can handle, as I am spreading donations around (Kelli Ward, etc.)
The counter-argument to that is that they would be more susceptible to bribery.
I just got an email FUNDRAISER for Great America PAC.
As far as I know, Trump has disavowed this and all pacs...he won’t get the $$$ out of this, a small amount may go for ‘ads’ as they claim and WHO gave them my name and personal email account...The Trump organization doesn’t have it....is this just another RNC SCAM??
At the bottom it evens says “NOT authorized by an candidate or candidate committee.
Donate button takes you here: https://transaxt.com/Donate/XBAHJU/GreatAmericaPAC/
IMO, this is just another scam using Trump and in the end hurts his campaign. These are lobbyists...the very people we need to be rid of! Ed Rollins...don’t trust him! Frankly, I don’t want them doing advertising...which might do more harm than good.
Is anyone else getting these solicitations?
[snip]”He’s going to need help. The Democrat world is going to raise extraordinary sums of money. They’re licking their chops.”
— Ed Rollins, Great America PAC Co-Chairman
Friend,
Ed Rollins, Ronald Reagan’s victorious 1984 re-election campaign manager, couldn’t be more right.
Donald J. Trump has run an unprecedented campaign of truly historic proportions, self-funding his Republican Presidential Primary effort and generating massive support among a record-setting, highly-motivated, truly grassroots voting public ready for real change.
Now, after his dominating win in Indiana and the exit of his final GOP challengers — he’s our presumptive nominee...
...And he’s heading into an historic showdown with Hillary Clinton and her billion-dollar buzz saw Clinton Democrat political machine.
Friend, Donald Trump needs the help of every American patriot tired of Washington, DC establishment elites running our country into the ground — and he needs it now.
That’s why I stepped up to help lead Great America PAC — and why I’m directly appealing to you today.
We’ve already run over $1 million in television ads to defend Mr. Trump and united more than a million new supporters behind his campaign, but I’m telling you right now, we’re taking this to a whole new level.
As the Wall Street Journal just made clear, Great America PAC is now the number one PAC supporting the election of Donald Trump as our next President of the United States! Ed Rollins — Mr. Trump calls him “tremendous”— is on board, Dr. Ben Carson just hosted our inaugural national conference call, and we’re building out the plan to hire dozens of new staffers, and dynamic new additions to our finance committee.
But we’re going to need the support of energized, wide-awake patriots who know just how difficult it will be to defeat the shameless Hillary Clinton and her globalist Big Government special interest limousine liberal donor class with literally billions of your stolen tax dollars to burn to elect her.
Now is the time, Friend!
Please step forward today and extend your difference-making financial support to this great American movement to make our beloved country truly great again — make a generous contribution of $25, $50, $75, or even $100 or more to Great America PAC today!
Sincerely,
Eric Beach
National Co-Chair, Great America PAC
AuntB, I’m looking for something Trump said in connection with Ryan, most likely on FR. That he was donating the maximum to Ryan’s challenger, and some other things. Sound familiar? I can’t find it, dang it!
I don’t remember reading that. Maybe he said it at a campaign rally?
I haven’t listened to any rallies latey, I read the words. Maybe I’ll have to do a (dreaded) vanity to find it.
Maybe, but isn’t what they are doing bribery? And for decades at a time. The upshot of cutting pay and benefits is to weed out the dynastic members and replace them with people who don’t need bribes.
I’d also want term limits.
“Maybe, but isnt what they are doing bribery?”
Yes.
“The upshot of cutting pay and benefits is to weed out the dynastic members and replace them with people who dont need bribes.”
Who can work for nothing? FDR had his dollar-a-year men, and that’s why they joked that OSS stood for “Oh, so social.” Is public office to be limited to the wealthy?
“Id also want term limits.”
We need to term-limit the unelected staff. Even if the rep or senator changes, the staff remains to poison the well.
Great post, AuntB!
“Once a despicable scoundrel like Ryan is elected to office, it takes huge amounts of money and effort to get him out.
What could be done to deter scumbags from standing for public office?”
Expose and rid ourselves of the lobbyists & their ‘non profits’ who recruit and control them. That is Trump’s biggest message. The lobbyist write the laws and control our candidates.
There is momentum (thanks to Trump) to "throw the bums out!" The time is right. You're going down, Paul Ryano!
“You’re going down, Paul Ryano!”
I hope he does hard time, but it would still be better to stop electing immoral filth.
