The winner of the Nebraska Republican primary on Tuesday was Midland University President Ben Sasse, and tea partiers rejoiced.
(SNIP)
Clancy pointed out the obvious: Sasse supports the basic principles of ObamaCare, offered advice while in Washington as a consultant to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on how to improve the bill while it was pending, and then personally prospered by advising health insurance companies on how to implement it.
I want this jack ass gone.
Ben’s ass is houses his brain.
They haven’t had anybody good in NE since Roman Hruska and Carl T. Curtis.
BTTT.
I read here on FR that Sasse is entirly owned and operated by the super wealthy guy or family that owns TD Ameritrade.
...which would actually explain some stuff.
The Rickets family owns TD Ameritrade. And Pete Rickets is Nebraska governor. Ben Sasse is bought and paid for.
I don’t know about that but he’s a Yale-Harvard educated college professor-adminstrator who seems to enjoy shooting off his mouth and provoking people when he has no record of accomplishment to his own credit. He doesn’t have to run for re-election until 2020 and maybe thinks the Cruz approach of using the Senate to elevate one’s profile as a freshman Senator and laying the groundwork for a future presidential run is the way to go. But he may find that conservative Nebraska Republicans don’t like the class clown “Hey look at me” approach.
another “good doctor.” my the gop loves it’s doctors. this time a phd variety, i believe.
Here’s hoping we can get good conservatives to run for Senate in Arizona and Texas in 2018 and in Nebraska in 2020. These RINOs must be voted out.
Senator Ass is playing good cop, bad cop with McConnell. McConnell will be the good party guy and Senator Ass will be the anti-Trump leader to give cover to blue state Senators who want to run against Trump. As always. It’s all kabuki.
AS I have been told, That N on the Cornhuskers’ helmets does not stand for knowledge.
Ben calls himself a “former businessman”, Im guessing it was beltway-crony-insiderism with advice to insurance companies.
People can attack Trump who builds things, or even some of the hedge fund people but they have more right to call themselves “ex businessman”
yeah, everything’s calculated to mislead the low info voter. i always wonder about career academics or licensed “professionals” who’ve invested years, even decades in that vocation only to suddenly turn around and want to be politicians.
Dear #Never Trump Sasse
You do realize you painted yourselve into a lose-lose position.
If Trumps wins you are see as politically impotent and irrelevant. If Trump loses, everyone on our side is going to be pointing at you as the cause.
There is no upside for you here. Perhaps you should just finally be honest and call yourselves what you are. The Petulance Party. Your party symbol will be a Crying Baby.
