Indonesia is preparing to execute several prisoners, a police official said on Wednesday, though authorities have not said if foreigners will be among them, a year after the execution of foreign drug traffickers drew widespread condemnation.
President Joko Widodos administration has pledged to resume executions by firing squad at a prison on Nusakambangan Island, despite criticism from rights groups and foreign governments.
We have had a warning since last month to prepare the place, said Central Java provincial police spokesman Aloysius Lilik Darmanto.

I don’t support the death penalty for drug smuggling. Way too harsh.
That being said, don’t smuggle drugs to Indonesia. Could end very badly. Those dudes mean business.
Joko widodo.
Thanks Indonesia for saddling us with joko obamo.
These are the people who found a sex doll on the beach and thought it was an angel that got dislodged from heaven during the recent solar eclipse.
Obonzo’s old stompin’ grounds where he learned about being a Muslim.
So?
They’re at least controlling, or trying to control, their drug trafficking problem.
When in Indonesia do as the Indonesians do.
Is that anything like Jocko Homo?
Just smuggling? OK, life is good enough for that. But dealing, on any level from kingpin to street pusher warrants death in my opinion.
Nah, I’m not for it.
Maybe in the case of cartels, because those are some really bad people, and they do way more than their fair share or torture and killing.
But I only support the death penalty in the areas of 1st degree murder, capital murder, and I also support in the area of sexual crimes against children or even in cases of serious child abuse. And there are also cases of animal abuse where, quite frankly, I would like to see the same thing done to the people that did it to the animal. Eye for an eye.
If a drug dealer murders someone over business, than I’d say that counts as a capital crime or 1st degree murder, so they should be eligible.
But I don’t think the act of a dealer selling to a willing buyer warrants execution.
What’s the greater crime there, trading contraband or killing someone? Way out of kilter, too harsh.
I ask myself this question. When I say to myself I think this person should be executed for this particular crime, would I be willing to be the executioner? Do I have it in me to send that person back to their maker?
There’s only a few imaginable scenarios where I would be able to answer yes to that question.
OK, I can live without the death penalty , IF...

Hah!
I have seen some programs on NatGeo, Locked Up Abroad, and you do NOT want to get a life sentence or even any kind of sentence in an Indonesian prison or any number of other foreign prisons.
places like Thailand, Brazil, or other places where drugs are typically smuggled from like Peru or Equador... some of those prisons are like Hell on earth. Also in Russia, or Japan, don’t break the law.
In some places like those, one might even look at death as a release.
American prisons are the Holiday Inn compared to places like that.
