I don’t support the death penalty for drug smuggling. Way too harsh.

Just smuggling? OK, life is good enough for that. But dealing, on any level from kingpin to street pusher warrants death in my opinion.

Nah, I’m not for it.

Maybe in the case of cartels, because those are some really bad people, and they do way more than their fair share or torture and killing.

But I only support the death penalty in the areas of 1st degree murder, capital murder, and I also support in the area of sexual crimes against children or even in cases of serious child abuse. And there are also cases of animal abuse where, quite frankly, I would like to see the same thing done to the people that did it to the animal. Eye for an eye.

If a drug dealer murders someone over business, than I’d say that counts as a capital crime or 1st degree murder, so they should be eligible.

But I don’t think the act of a dealer selling to a willing buyer warrants execution.

What’s the greater crime there, trading contraband or killing someone? Way out of kilter, too harsh.

I ask myself this question. When I say to myself I think this person should be executed for this particular crime, would I be willing to be the executioner? Do I have it in me to send that person back to their maker?

There’s only a few imaginable scenarios where I would be able to answer yes to that question.
