Donald Trump's last Republican foe, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, was ending his quixotic presidential campaign Wednesday, cementing Trump's remarkable triumph as his party's presumptive nominee and launching him to a likely fall battle with Democrat Hillary Clinton. Trump's victory spurred some reluctant Republicans to rally around him, though others agonized over their party's future.

A gnashing of teeth and a slashing of wrists.

Of course, I'll vote for him. I'm just not expecting miracles at this point.

I'm so sick of the agony. After what Obama and Clinton wrought, these people apparently think a billionaire with an America-loving populist message is the devil himself. Pathetic.

It’s the AP and they’re pivoting to the general election and trying to divide the GOP ahead of time.

The liberal media is not our friend. They cannot be trusted.

Ever.

It’s the people who are driving this...admittedly with trump tying directly into their frustration because he sees it and understands it.

The highest ever GOP Primary Presidential primary tally was GW Bush with 10.8 million votes. Trump is already very close to that and is likely to end up with something like 14 million votes.

This is going to be historical and the turnout he is generating is absolutely scaring the bejeevies out of the Dems...as well it should.

If the GOPe doesn’t want to get onboard with that....good riddance.

trump is likely to bring in three voters for every one who goes that path.

Some FReeper smartly compared the constitutionally undefined GOPe with dinosaurs and tar pits the other day. And I agree.

“The long and chaotic Republican primary”

Hint to author - the rat primary will be longer, and a whole lot more chaotic.

Looking at pledged delegates, Bernie trails Hillary 1,417 vs 1,701...states won is 17 vs 23...

and I suspect Bernie will keep catching up.

“and I suspect Bernie will keep catching up.”

Go Bernie! keep the pressure on Hillary! Maybe between his and Trump’s attacks she will pop! This is way cool! the GOP Primary is over but the RAT Primary continues. Now Hillary get’s it from both sides. Buy popocorn!

Eisenhower had never held political office before his run either, but he had a bunch of political insiders pushing his candidacy.

Trump did it all himself.

True that.

Compared to what is coming, the media treatment and dismissal of TRUMP and the elevation of his every enemy has been a love fest.

The Democrats know TRUMP can take down Hillary, because she is not just a terrible candidate, she is fairly despised in her own party.

To salvage their party they must embrace her and destroy TRUMP. The only impediment is that Democrats actually like TRUMP.

TRUMP is trouble, for the Democrats and all the Establishment.

Yes. Ted jumped because of his father and that business.

The light beginning to shine on Rafael Cruz may have made “ someone” uneasy about re opening the past, and hastened the exit of Ted

Yes, we need to make sure that all the remaining states have a high voter turnout and they don’t get lazy. That will make a great statement for the GOP.

It opens the citizenship door and examination of the records. It questions his sincerity and honesty- the entire Cruz story. The NE photographs are part of his parents real timeline published online here at FR and other places.

That’s why he was lamenting about his father being tortured in Cuba and struggling washing dishes in the concession speech. He’s trying to defend him one last time on his way out.

If he never learned the full story from his dad, others would have told him. Reporters have been interviewing Cubans that have conflicting reports to his dad’s tale. Too many conflicting stories have surfaced about Cruz.

There is a reason it took Ted nearly 18 months to drop his Canadian citizenship. All the related parental documents would have surfaced, and they needed to be sealed. His parents became Canadians: no jus soli and no jus sanguis.
